This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in Germany by the Helena Wolfsohn Dresden studio in the 1890s. The saucer has a diameter of 4 1/2 inches and the cup is 2 inches high. The set is hand painted with garlands of vibrant flowers. Swags and scallops of forget-me-nots and tiny roses spill across each piece. There is delicate gilding around the border, rims and handle. This work towel is made for use but is also very beautiful. I think it is linen one way and cotton the other way. (warp and weft). It has a feel and sheen of linen but also has the flat look of cotton. It is in very good condition, has the original loop for hanging it up, and is hemmed on both sides of the towel. 1880 blue checked bonnet all hand sewn with really nice details. I have taken some pictures I hope you can see the hand stitching on the brim with six rows with cord inside so it gives the brim some stiffness. The bonnet is a lovely blue. There are a few spots around the bottom of the neck fringe. It is 14" top to bottom and 8" front to back of the bonnet. It is a very nice early work of art. C.1880

This porcelain egg cup was produced in Germany by Meissen between 1890 and 1910. It is 2 5/8 inches high and the opening has a diameter of 1 3/4 inches. It is made of the finest hard paste porcelain ever produced. It is expertly hand painted with a lovely spray of vividly colored flowers. There are tiny sprigs and little buds toward the back of the cup. The rim and foot are trimmed with gold. This is a beauty you would be proud to own. Condition: Excellent

Lovely cut glass powder jar with a silver lid. The finial is a beautifully-detailed strawberry. The edges of the lid are decorated with classical bound reeding. The lid is also monogramed "FC". Hallmarks are European and the silver content is 916/1000.

A Gorham sterling silver miniature chamber stick or candle holder dated 1891. This Victorian era ornate chamberstick stands 1-5/8" high and it measures 3-3/8" across the base. It is stamped with the lion/anchor/G mark, along with STERLING 181 and the year cypher for 1891. Although a dainty size, these small candle holders sat on a writing deak or in a travel writing desk, as they had the practical use of melting sealing wax for an envelope or document. This bisque porcelain figural group was produced in Europe in the mid 19th century. It is not marked and we don't know if it is German or perhaps English. It is 6 1/2 inches tall and 4 1/4 inches wide at the base. The porcelain is dense and quite heavy for its size. The group is so quaint, with this little girl and her large dog carrying a basket of flowers in his mouth. The piece has a space in the back to hold flowers, so it serves as a vase as well as a figurine...

A Royal Worcester 6-1/4" face or mask jug with gold made in 1897. This exquisitely detailed jug has superb hand applied gold decoration in the form of wild daisies with yellow and reddish centers along with wild grasses. The gold is thickly applied with ridges and jewelling and the ornate handle is gold as well. A lovely transitional etched Art Nouveau~Art Deco case with Czechoslovakian export marks along with FB 900 for silver content. The back has an engine turned design. A fine example of mid-Victorian Naturalism. This is a silver plated egg stand in the form of tree branches, with the English registry mark for 1871. This set consists of the four silver plated 2-3/8" high eggcups and the cast metal 5-1/2" tall handled base with branches and leaves. Wonderful pottery candlestick decorated in an underglaze blue floral transfer and clobbered with overglaze iron red, yellow, and purple pigments. The effect is much like chintz china, but with stronger coloring. The bottom is marked with the registration number indicating the piece was designed in 1913 and bears the mark used by Cauldon Potteries from 1905 to 1920. It is also marked "Grip", probably referring to the very uncommon form. It is a very unusual and striking pattern.

A French faience pot de crème / custard pot, c 1760, ribbed and decorated with flowers in petit feu enamels. The style of the decoration as well as the shape resembles that of Veuve Perrin, Marseille, but the signature, a monogrammed JR, indicates that the little pot originates from the manufacture of Joseph Robert, also in Marseille. Height including lid "3 ¼ / 8 cm. Condition: some roughness to rims (cf. pics).

Very unusual Victorian sterling silver grapefruit spoon with a wonderful plique-a-jour enamel assymetrical handle decorated in six shades of translucent enamel. It is quite unusual for plique-a-jour enamel to have been used on a grapefruit spoon, as it was so fragile that it was usually reserved for more delicate pieces like demitasse spoons. The back is marked with Imperial Austrian marks in use 1866-1922.

Pair of English press moulded and marbled glass posy vases, c 1880, possibly by Davidson & Co.Of cornucopia shape, purple and white, the exterior with scale leaves and a diamond border. Height: 3"/7,5 cm. Condition: fine.

Six little fruit plates and a dish. German Majolica, c 1900, unmarked, with palmettos in light blue surrounding a relief-moulded twig of leaves and apples. The colours are lighter on the dish and three of the plates than on the rest. Diam: "6¼/ 16 cm and "9 1/2/ 24 cm. Condition: wear to the outer rim on two of the plates.

Very elegant Neoclassical sterling silver server, ideal for either pastry or fish. The handle is decorated simply with banded reeds and laurel boughs, and the pierced blade is decorated with engraved laurel boughs and acanthus leaves. The back of the blade is marked with the French export silver hallmarks for 1879.
