This trio of tea cup, coffee cup and saucer was produced in Wales by Nantgarw between
1817 and 1822. Illustration #82 in “Nantgarw Porcelain Album” written by W.D. John, G.J. Coombes and K. Coombes shows a cream jug in the same pattern. None of the pieces are signed. The saucer measures 5 1/2 inches in diameter and is 1 inch deep. It is notable that this saucer does not have a foot rim and is unglazed on the bottom, a detail which is mentioned in the book...

A fine example of a Longton Hall porcelain tea bowl and saucer, hand painted in the "Windswept" pattern. The scene features an oriental type interpretation of tall trees, rocks, and foliage with a small flock of birds flying above.

This porcelain tea cup and saucer was produced in England by Brown, Westhead & Moore in the 1890s. It is a transitional set, just before the company became Cauldon. It was made especially for Gilman and Collamore of New York. The porcelain is extra fine and has molded swirls in the body. The decoration of tiny corn flower garlands is hand painted. Garlands of gilded leaves entwine with the corn flowers creating a delicate pattern. Tiny sprigs dot the outside of the cup...

A scalloped top coffee cup made by the Richard Chaffers factory in Liverpool. It has a version of the Scarlet Japan pattern with panels of prunus and chrysanthemums separated by orange bands with gilding and reserved with mons. The interior also has three mons in red. The handle is of simple loop form.
The cup is 2 1/2 inches tall, and 2 1/8 inches in diameter. The condition is about as close to mint as you can get, with no chips, cracks, scratches, or restoration...

Rich Green majolica plate by Wardle of England with leaf and grape pattern. Note the intentional crackling of the glaze in the large leaf. In excellent antique condition with some expected wear to the higher parts of the design and the edges. There is an old chip on the back (see last photo). The glaze is good throughout, any weird variations you might think you see are cause by my lighting. Plate measures 9 inches across. Dates 1880.

A blue and white transfer printed plate with the Boy on a Buffalo pattern - one of the first Chinese patterns to be "translated" by the English potteries and first used by Spode c 1795, soon also by other potters. The specific border used for this pattern adapts itself well to the lobed shape of the rim. Around 1800, unmarked, possibly Spode. Diameter "8¾/ 22 cm. Condition: fine.

An oval English porcelain sugar bowl with the lid and body decorated with blue and magenta bell flowers growing out of gilt plants. The flowers circle both the lid and the body, which has molded ring handles (not working) at the end of the long sides. The knop on the lid is elaborately gilt. Unmarked, but certainly English and from the first quarter of the 19th century. 6 inches tall by 6 inches long by 5 inches wide.
