A lovely and very rare matching set of massive dishes, made with the Habsburg Coat Of Arms and portraits of Albert (Albrecht VII), Archduke of Austria, 13 November 1559 – 13 July 1621 and Isabella Clara Eugenia, sovereign of the Habsburg Netherlands between 1598 and 1621.

This exceptional set of portrait dishes are probably made somewhat later in the 17th. century as memorial wal hangers. Inscribed with their titles and on the back marked with pewter touchmarks of the crowned Rose...

A lovely renaissance style pewter flagon or jug, made by Ulrich Appel in Nuremberg, Germany c. mid-late 17th. century.

Ulrich Appel became a master of pewter in 1659 and this vessel would have been made shortly thereafter.

The surface of this entire jug is profusely decorated with particularly artfull and tecnically difficult style of late renaissance - early baroque micro-engraving. A large winged angel with long flowing hair in the center front...

An extremely rare matching pair of large pewter wine jugs, Germany, Marburg, dated 1740.

Fantastic execution and made for a very wealthy client in c. 1740, which is engraved on the lid beneath the name of the commisioneer - JOHANNES HAAS. The jugs are stamped with a Marburg 'Feinzinnmarke' - a pewter touch mark from the city in Germany. The master given is Johann H Werlin, a meister working out of Marburg.

A massive and exceptional early European Pewter Stein, Hamburg, Germany, dated 1776 on the front, but probably made c. 1750.

Profusely decorated over the entire surface with two flanking Lions on either side of a crest of a crowned Bulls head with crossed hatches in the mouth. The body with deeply incised text: GEORG WENCH. V. NICKEL. LEISTER.DIE.SEYN.DER.ZEIT.DIE ELTER.MEISTER. and on the other side: PETER VOLBART.V.JVST.SCHMICHING.DER.ZEIT.DIE.ALT.GESELLEN.SIND...

Pewter plate, of variety apparently used for special occasions like Purim or Passover etc., 9 3/8" diameter, and filled with incised design consisting of Hebrew characters and an eight pointed star that reminds of the "hex" symbols of American folk art . On the reverse are three "angel/justice" symbols as often seen in these plates, and some writing above that in Roman letters, difficult to decipher. I see the word "FEIN" below one of those angel figures...

A very early renaissance type European pewter jug in excellent condition with clear marks and engravings. On the front a crowned H and G inside a heart all inside a wreath and below ACK, so this would have been inscribed for a wedding between H and G in 1700 and the donator was probably ACK.

A massive early European Pewter Flacon, Hamburg, Germany, manifactured 1751 (touch marks) and dated 1759 on the lid.

Wonderful shape with an integram and very massive spout with a heart-shaped mouth, the handle with thumb rest on the top.
The lid profusely engraved with guild marks, a tang with a nail, crossed keys, a hammer, an iron anker etc., so likely from a guild of metal smiths.
There's also a longer German text all inside a floral wreath.

Profusely decorated over the entire surface with frases / sayings and images of Crowned Guild symbolics, a heart and a crowned cross etc. The lid also engraved with a owners name - MARGRETA JURGSEN 1794.

With German Pewter touchmarks, perhaps dating it 1733 (?).

Such high quality tankard from this period is very rare!
