An interesting fragment of Victorian needlework, the somewhat shiny black (chintz, silk?) fragment of an irregular shape, later laid on a dull black linen backing to attempt to match the color, the final result currently round and 12 1/2" diameter, and 19 1/2" on a side in a new square frame (in excellent condition) with clean mat. The design includes a butterfly, daisies, pansies and other flowers, and grasses gone to seed...

A Five square monastery meditation runner, made to be placed along a bench for the comfort of meditating months, mid 19th Century, the medallions with Khotan style Guls in a beautiful green on a red field. 24" x 105"

A fine cotton exemplar textile fragment from Perugia, Italy, dating back to the 16th century. Foliage and mythological figures, distinctive themes used in Perugia, cover the piece which has been carefully mounted on a cotton covered board.

Overall condition is very fine, with some minor and easily cleaned surface dirt. The size is 21" by 9".

A fine multicolored velvet ikat from Uzbekistan, carefully mounted on acid free fabric. The condition is quite fine with one very small area with some thread separation, and the sight size is 20 1/2" by 15 1/2".

Three portions of an antique linen dress, elaborately embroidered and embellished with crochet work in wool. Two arm sleeves, one undone and the chest area. A wonderful exemplar of an Italian voided velvet textile, done in a deep red. Similar examples are shown in "European Textiles in the Keir Collection 400BC to 1800AD".

The overall condition is excellent, and the sight size is 21 3/4" by 8 1/2".

A beautiful handmade tablecloth and napkins set of Italian needle lace of Pointe de Venice type, with the characteristic scrolling floral patterns with additional floral motifs worked in relief (embroidered).

The condition is excellent, with no tears or other flaws of anything but minor note. The tablecloth is 106" by 70" and the 12 napkins are 21" by 21".

An antique traditional women's folk costume headdress from Bavaria called "Priener Hut". The outside covered with black velvet, both sides with a pair tassels worked in gold wires, frippery and glass beads. The underside of the hat brim with splendid goldwork in gold and silver wires decorated with glass beads. The sides with the long, often missing, embroidered velvet and silk ribbons. Green silk lining and maker's label "Therese Allinger - Hutgeschäft - Obing"...

An exceptional and rare Italian cut and voided velvet panel, probably Genovese, done in a dark green on a beige foundation. The motif features mythological animals and urns, all surrounded by foliate scrolls.

The condition is quite fine, even for a textile 250 years younger. The length is 64 1/2", with a width of 10 1/2".

A superb piece for display or use as an accent, and should appeal to collectors and decorators.

A beautiful early 17th century silk floss textile embroidered with a variety of flowers in a panoply of colors. The central section has larger and more elaborate examples, while the borders have smaller meandering flora. Most probably of Italian origin.

The condition is quite fine, and the dimensions are 67" by 16". This wonderful piece has been part of my collection for 25 years and has not been previously shown or offered.

Needlework sampler, 22 1/2" by 17" (26" by 20" framed), the design incorporating the alphabet, floral motifs, a heart, four paired figures and a house. Condition is excellent, the colors not faded. This would date to circa 1970's; a so-called "Paragon" kit available at the time. Nice decorative piece for the Americana or folk art setting.

An antique traditional women's folk costume headdress from Bavaria. Made of black silk and embellished with velvet and jet beads. The top of the bonnet decorated with glass beads, sequins, silk and metal threads, and eight attached damask silk ribbons. Checkered cotton lining. Condition: traces of usage and wear, few missing beads and ribbons with few tiny tears and holes, little dusty. Dimension approx.: bonnet c. 14.5 x 16 x 9 cm, length of ribbons: up to c. 79 cm.

A girl's or woman's silk cap embroidered with flowers, highlighted with polychrome sequins. Edged with gold lace, linen lining and silk ribbon loop. Condition: traces of age, patina. Dimension cap closed: c. 23.2 cm high x 14.3 cm wide.

This is a Japanese antique Boro shibori and katazome hanjyuban jacket textile Edo period (1800－1867). The sleeve part natural Indigo dye cotton katazome. The body and back are silk safflower dyed shibori(Tie-dyeing) . The collar and lining are cotton. The fabric on the collar is a very nice Edo period cotton. Early 1800's petit point embroidery of a young girl holding a bird. Protected under glass in an oval frame it is in remarkably good condition with the colors still being vibrant. Measures in frame 10.75" high x 8.5" across.

This is a precious indigo-dyed striped hemp child kimono Edo period (1800-1867). It is a natural material. It's very charming. No stains or damage. I recommend it for your collection. Size::Length 50cm(19.7inch) / Cuff to cuff, across the back: (26inch)

Signed, Wm. S. Morgan, Somerset Co, 1872, this woven wool coverlet was made in Somerset County in Jenner Township, Pennsylvania. In 1870, the factory employed ten workers and produced a variety of woolen goods, including blankets and coverlets. Condition is good, but does have some damage, please study photos. Measures 66" x 72".

Circa 1830 from Pennsylvania, this pieced cotton quilt features the North Star pattern. All hand stitched, it has strong geometric shapes. Colors are red, white and various purples. A little worn around the edges, color is still good, considered to be in very good condition commensurate with age. Coverlet fits over a double bed. From the estate of Mike Biggers.

Was offered for sale in 1908 in London by the Windsor auction house, appraised by a certain Mr Knox as being a rose point lace, Venetian work from middle 17th century or a later French copy from the period of the reign of Louis XIV. The lace is kept in a wall display frame, it is placed on a Chinese silk background with secret embroidery, visible only in raking light. 19th Century craftsmanship for today's lifestyle. This is a richly colored hand dyed cotton antique American Folk Art floral hooked rug in shades of cream, beige, brown, gray and red comprising a centered diamond with scattered flowers and leaves. The outer corners having floral bouquets on a deep brown striated background, striped border. Size: 107" x 69". Condition is excellent with one minor repair on back.

A large silk satin fan, with sixteen gilt decorated wood "sticks", hand-painted depicting four birds amongst flowering prunus or cherry branches. This item is made with Chinese silk but was probably made in France and was retailed in Liverpool - unusually complete with its original box which carries a dispatch date of 9th November 1898. This item is in very good unused condition. 34cm (13.3inches) long; 62cm (24.3inches) wide when extended.

Fabulous homespun black wool blanket with the best bittersweet color stripes at both ends. It is very soft and in very good condition but not mint. It has a later hand sewn edge on one end that is coming loose in a couple of places and there are a few small thin areas. It is 68" by 60" and it makes quite a statement. It is not as early as the center seam blankets but it makes up for it in looks.

Twelve eight pointed stars made of cotton printed in orange with small yellow clover-like shapes arranged in rows of twos and threes with alternating white squares all enclosed in three bands of the same printed fabric. The outside band is turned over the edge to join the white cotton backing. Cotton seeds visible in the stuffing. All hand stitched. Very good quilting with running feathers and cross stitching over much of the surface. There is an embroidered, “E” on the back in one corner. 7...

A large cotton pieced log cabin quilt that is slightly asymmetrical with nine rows to the height as in the picture and eight rows of squares wide all surrounded by a red border. The radiating dark and light bands (barn raising) from the center are not actually centered in the quilt, but start in the lower center as per the pictures. A nicely made large quilt in the triple Irish chain pattern from the late 19th century. The chains made of small squares of yellow, red and green pattern printed cotton. The double red border is of the same red printed pattern. There are seeds visible in the filling between the backing and the jam side. The quilting in the white squares is a feather wreath enclosing four hearts or possibly a four leaf clover. The white border between the two lines of red is quilted with tulips. The red portions ...

A pieced cotton quilt in a pattern called, “Goose on the pond” probably from the mid-West and made in the late 19th century. The pattern is made up of pattern printed blue, orange and white fabrics. The same orange fabric is used throughout, but the blue and white are made up of different prints. The quilting is diagonal lines. Cotton seeds in the stuffing visible through the back. Front edge turned to the back. All hand stitched. 72 inches square.

A double Irish chain quilt with printed cotton fabrics of red and green chains against a background of black spots on white cotton. The front is turned over to the back to make the edge. The quilting is simple diagonals.

Condition; excellent, never washed.

Good colors and pleasing design makes this an attractive quilt.

A very well designed and executed eight point Star of Bethlehem pieced cotton quilt with excellent quilting. The pieces around the edges are white with very small pale blue printed sprigs. The pieces for the star are all solid colors. The backing is printed green cotton in a small pattern. Quilted with feather wreaths in the corners and partial ones between the points of the stars. All of the sewing is done by hand. 72 inches square.

Condition: excellent with very minor wear and a few spots...

A design of a green cross with all sides equal enclosed in a rectangle on one point with red steps and green saw teeth in rows and columns of five against a background of light and dark blue checked fabric. Geometric quilting of waves around the outside and rectangular quilting in the other light squares. Great printed cotton backing.

Condition: May never have been washed as the blue chalk lines for the quilting are still visible. There is a stain near the border.

Good design and colors....

A large double Irish chain pieced quilt with the chain consisting of red squares enclosing yellow ones on a white ground. The back is turned over the top to form the edge. The red border quilted with swags encloses a white border with a running feather wreath. Inside are red saw teeth and then the chains across the field. Cotton seeds visible through the back side. The white squares enclosed by the chain are quilted with a number of different circular motifs. 77 by 90 inches.

A very nice child size red, white and blue checked bonnet. It has the cardboard stays that are removable so the bonnet can be washed. I like this feature because you can hang the bonnet on a peg rack so much easier without the stays. It is in good condition it just one spot at the very top of the brim...see picture. It is 13" top to bottom and 9" front to back.
