Rare antique early 18th century exceptional large Polish flintlock saddle holster pistol. It features a very long two-stage barrel with a tapered iron barrel. The flattened rib of the barrel is bordered by cut, narrow grooves and is hand-signed at the top with the word "DANTZIG." A renaissance bronze figure, Italian, Venice, and in a superb style with the stylistic hallmark of the Roccatagliata workshop, c. 16th.- early 17th. century.

The figure is made of bell metal and depicts a Cupid with spread wings holding a scroll with the portrait bust of Christ. He is standing on a stepped podium and mounted to a heavy black base.

A lovely renaissance style pewter flagon or jug, made by Ulrich Appel in Nuremberg, Germany c. mid-late 17th. century.

A lovely set of three pewter measuring mugs for quarter, Pint and 1/2 pint, England, 18th.-19th. century.

Scarce as a complete set in this quality with brass rims and profusely inscribed with owners names and fine pewter touchmarks. The Quarter mug (1 quart Imperial capacity) is quite large and would probably have contained nearly a liter liquid. Brass rim measures are considered to have been used to measure shell fish and dry produce, though.

An extremely rare matching pair of large pewter wine jugs, Germany, Marburg, dated 1740.

Fantastic execution and made for a very wealthy client in c. 1740, which is engraved on the lid beneath the name of the commisioneer - JOHANNES HAAS. The jugs are stamped with a Marburg 'Feinzinnmarke' - a pewter touch mark from the city in Germany. The master given is Johann H Werlin, a meister working out of Marburg.
