Elegant 19th C. chocolate or demitasse coffee pot by Shreve & Co. Measures 10 5/8" tall and 7 3/4" wide (including spout and handle). There are two ivory insets in the beautiful elongated handle. One side has an engraved stag's head. Marks on base include an "S" on each side of a bell, "Shreve & Co., Sterling, San Francisco". On close inspection, I noticed a small dent on the underside of the spout (near top). Otherwise, excellent condition, inside and out. Circa 1890.

An oversized plate (10 ½ inches (26.7 cm) diameter) with a hand painted bouquet of petunias in the center, surrounded by a thick gilt band and the elaborately molded lip with the molding picked out in gold. The printed blue KPM mark on the bottom was used during the years 1847 to 1849. There is also an incised Roman numeral four and possibly the number 14. It was probably used as a serving plate for pastry or cake.

A tour-de-force first standard (950/1000 pure silver) tastevin by silversmith Stanislas Pollet celebrating Napoleon’s great victory at the Battle of Wagram. The tastevin is inset with a Napoleonic silver medal surrounded by fleur-de-lis engraving. The outer edges are enhanced with ornate strapwork (a technique particularly mastered by Pollet) depicting fleur-de-lis and acanthus leaves. The entire design is set off with a pair of magnificently cast and engraved dolphins forming the handle.

A lovely Staffordshire pottery inkwell and quill holder in the form of a swan. The wings are painted vivid shades of pink with black and gilt accents. The bird rests on a colorful "confetti" nest.
