A macabre bronze figural cigar cutter in the form of a guillotine. The perfectly detailed guillotine includes a movable “bascule” and “lunette”. On the full-size models, these were the portions to which the victim was strapped and tilted into the machine and the part with a hole that surrounded the neck to hold the head still. In this case, a cigar is laid on the bascule and the lunette closes around the very tip of the cigar...

This porcelain vase was produced in Germany by Rosenthal in the 1890s. It was sold white ware to an American studio decorator. The vase measures 10 3/4 inches tall and the base has a diameter of 4 inches. It has an Art Nouveau look. The roses come out of this misty green background in a mysterious and appealing way. This set of 8 porcelain egg cups was produced in Germany by Helena Wolfsohn in the 1890s. They measure 2 1/2 inches high and the base is 3 1/2 inches in diameter. The porcelain is molded with a swirl decoration. There are panels with tiny hand painted flowers on the cup and base. They are outlined with gold. The borders are decorated with gold filigree. This set is delicate and precious. Condition: Excellent

This porcelain ink well with tray was produced in Germany by Nymphenburg in the late 19th century. There is an impressed Nymphenburg shield mark on the bottom of the tray. The tray measures 8 3/4 inches long and 6 3/4 inches wide. The ink wells are attached to the tray but have separate lids and inserts. The tray is hand painted with vividly colored flowers and little sprigs. This decoration is also used on the lids and ink wells...

These 6 porcelain demitasse cups and saucers were produced in France in the 1890s. They have a spurious Sevres mark but were most likely decorated by a Paris porcelain firm. The saucers have a diameter of 3 3/4 inches and the cups are 2 inches high. The cups have a puffy, blown-out shape. The set is decorated with an elaborate raised gold pattern in two color gold. The interiors of the cups are coated with gold. The rims and handles are gilded. Condition: Excellent

This porcelain egg cup was produced in Germany by Meissen between 1890 and 1910. It is 2 5/8 inches high and the opening has a diameter of 1 3/4 inches. It is made of the finest hard paste porcelain ever produced. It is expertly hand painted with a lovely spray of vividly colored flowers. There are tiny sprigs and little buds toward the back of the cup. The rim and foot are trimmed with gold. This is a beauty you would be proud to own. Condition: Excellent

An unusual foil, or tinsel, painting depicting two birds hovering over a large flowering plant. The painting is done basically in tones of taupe and green. The frame is period and is most likely original. The back is sealed with paper that appears to have been a student's calligraphy practice.

Condition is very good, with some very minor paint separation at some points on the edges. The grayish areas in the painting are shadows from when the photograph was taken...

The locket measures 1 3/4 inches in long from the top of the bail to the bottom of the locket and one inch at its widest point...
