Chinese Famille Rose Sugar Bowl and Cover. The petal moulded base and lid with applied Lotus stems, leaves and flowers. Decorated in bright enamels with flowering peony. Yongzheng C1730/40. A small attractively decorated porcelain jardiniere and stand probably made in Jingdezhen, China circa 1770 - 1820 during the reign of either the Qianlong or Jiaqing emperor. Although this was a popular export shape during that period the traditional archaic style decoration suggests that this was possibly made as a scholar's item. Chinese Qing dynasty low circular form porcelain brush washer covered overall in a monochrome oxblood red glaze holding a partly submerged moulded recumbent water buffalo at the center. A brown wash was applied to the low flat foot and slightly recessed base. 7 3/4" diameter x 2” high. 18th/19th century. A few thin glaze losses in the bottom reveal the white porcelain body. A small production flaw to one horn looks like a chip but appears to be glazed over...

A nice example of Late Ming Dynasty 16th-17th century blue and white cup, decorated to the exterior with incised floral flanked by underglaze cobalt blue, inside the centre with flower head within double circle. This lidded jar is painted with two lion dogs frolicking among peony flowers, all on an imperial yellow ground. The lid is similarly decorated with a single peony bloom. Both the interiors of the jar and lid are unglazed showing the fine white paste. The inset base is covered in a thin clear glaze with an incised double ring. The footring is unglazed and there is minor soiling to it and to the interior of the jar...
