This carved bamboo brush holder (BiTong) is an early 20th century product. It depicts five sages and two young servants surrounded by pine trees and rocks. It is 6 ½” high and 5”~ 5 ½” in diameter. The carving is elegant and quite deep. Aside from some cracks due to the age and nature of the bamboo, it is in excellent condition.

This Shou Shan stone carving of Zhang Guo (or Kuo) Lao is a mid 19th century product. It depicts a seated Zhang Guo Lao. In his left hand, he is carrying his emblem Yu Gu (or Ku) or fish drum which is a tube-shaped bamboo drum with two iron rods. His right hand is resting on his knee. This massive white jade (nephrite) carving of a brush washer is 6 ½” long, 4” wide and 1 ¾” thick. It is a late 19th century or early 20th century product. It depicts a large Buddha hand citron surround by some smaller citron, peach and pomegranate; one little monkey rests on the side. Aside from some natural blemishes on the bottom, it is in excellent condition.

This massive mid or late 19th century white jade (nephrite) carved Ru-Yi scepter is 18 ½” long, 5 ½” wide (from the widest part) and 3” high (from the highest part). The whole scepter was carved from a single piece of nephrite. The carving depicts mythical figures, animals and buildings surrounded by clouds. Aside from some natural flaws in the stone, it is in excellent condition.
