This is a very rare and highly desirable Changsha kiln 9th century Tang Dynasty bird water dropper. Based on archaeological records, Changsha wares originated and were developed from the foundations of the Yue Zhou kilns which were built prior to the Tang Dynasty in the same region. Usually these are characterized by such components such as under-glazed brown and green motifs and with molded design in relief, appliqué designs or impressed designs in relief and also incised or carved designs...
19th century Chinese scholar’s brush rest in a shape of a wooden branch with richly textured surface resembling numerous swirling clouds. Very beautiful brown finish, wonderful patina, very pleasant to touch and to hold. Excellent piece in scholar’s taste - one of the most attractive scholar’s objects that I ever had. Length 7 5/8 inches.
Chinese Green Porcelain Pen or Brush Holder. The green glaze has an "oil on water" effect and gives an excellent impression. The shape of a table makes it rare and interesting. This round inkstone was carved out of a naturally occurring layered stone...both the bottom and cover viewed from the side show the striation of the stone.The covered has a pond design etched with raised koi fish. It is really lovely. The inkstone is just over 4 inches in diameter and .8 inches in height.
19th century Chinese scholar jadeite seal carved out of a natural boulder and resembling a hill with vegetation. First catalogue photo includes the image of the printing surface flipped left to right to show what the imprint of the seal will look like. Wonderful austere piece appropriate for a scholar’s table, high polish finish to the stone. The bottom is carved with six sunken characters, red seal paste in the grooves. Light green natural jadeite with light russet areas...

Kangxi period, early 1700s
This dish is painted in the “wu cai” manner with overglaze enamels combined with underglaze cobalt blue. The interior base has a design of flowers and rockwork surrounded by petal lappets around the well of the dish. Each petal contains an enameled flower decoration. The back of the dish is glazed white with no decoration but the petal lappets from the interior stand out in low relief on the back...
Late 19th century export Chinese kidney shaped dish with a celadon ground featuring a bird, flowers, and butterflies in vibrant enamels. Condition is excellent, no breaks, no cracks, no hairlines, no repairs. Measures 10.5" across by 8.25", and 1.5" high.
This pair of boots were made for the child of a wealthy Han family of the late Qing dynasty. They were made from a pale peach colored silk fabric and hand embroidered with silk thread using a satin stitch. The color on lower part of the boots, especially on the outside, has faded to a soft golden color. This would be due to sun exposure during use as the upper part of the boots would be covered by the childs pant legs...
