This antique Chinese silk wall hanging is embroidered with mounted soldiers carrying banners across a mountainous terrain. Silk background fabric with a wide silk border, the tapestry is approx 60 inches tall and 28 inches wide. The fabric is in very good condition. This tapestry conservatively dates to the mid 1800's. While the detail of the embroidery is clearly visible, some of the embroidered threads are abraided and worn, which is typical of a textile of this technique and age.

Beautiful black birds perched over a chrysanthemum bush. There is an inscription in the upper left corner and a cartouche. Sumi and light colors on silk. Mid Ching dynasty (1644-1911), circa 1800. It measures 12" wide 32" long, overall 16" wide by 55.5" long.

Serene and calm landscape of the mountains with three figures, two men and a boy, sitting by the river bank. There are two inscriptions at the top with seal marks below them. It is mounted on a yellow paper with a medallion pattern. The image measures 17" wide 50.25" long, overall 24" wide 90" long.

Beautiful antique Chinese scroll with two images painted by ladies of the court from the late Ching Dynasty, circa 1900. Each image has an inscription with a cartouche. It is painted with sumie ink and mineral pigments. The overall width is 14", the images measure 10.25" wide by 9.25" tall.

This carved ox horn statue of an old man is a late 19th century product. It depicts a bearded old story teller sitting with one leg kneeling. He holds a pair of clap sticks or clappers in his right hand. His left hand rests on his belt. The statue is 4 7/8” high, 2 ¾” wide from bottom and 2 ¼” thick from bottom (without base). It is in great condition.

 

Beautiful ink painting of sumie grapes. There is an inscription and cartouche. It measures 24.25" wide 88" tall overall, the image measures 15.75"wide 58.25" tall.

Nice Qingtien stone in yellowish green tint was finished as a display item on the desk when the back side was flat and plain.

This carved ox horn statue of a fairy is an early 20th century product. It depicts a fairy with one hand holding a flower branch while her other hand is holding a bamboo basket with more flowers inside. It is 10 ¼” high (11 ¼” high with base), 3” wide from the bottom and 2 ¼” in depth. Aside from small chips on the bottom rim, it is in great condition.

This early 20th century Chinese ceramic carved white brush holder is 5 ¼” high and 3 ¾” in diameter. It depicts a tiger standing on top of mountain surround by far away mountains, pine trees and bamboo. There are peony and small chrysanthemums beneath the tiger and a lucky bat is flying on the top. The seal of the maker, Chen Guo Zhi, is carved on the bottom. Chen Guo Zhi (1821~1861) was a well known artist. He was born and raised in An Hui province, but spent most of his time in Jin ...

This elegant looking yingqing incense burner, from the late Song dynasty, is round in shape at the top like a ball with a double fluted flange as the supporting base. The cover is a semi-circle with intricately designed holes for the incense smoke to pass through.

This is a late southern Song dynasty black glazed eight lobed ewer. It stands on a short recessed base exposing the buff colour earthen clay material. The glaze is generally preserved.

Overall, it is in good condition. No repair, chip or restoration. As can be seen in photograph 4, there are three spots of glaze crazing and minute pin holes at the spout area and the body near the spout. This is a very fine and beautiful small famille rose tea pot. The design is that of a beautiful water scene of a very lively, detailed and bright orange-red goldfish swimming among green seaweeds. There are three goldfish on the cover and five on each side of the tea pot. The base has the seal mark of Tongzhi and is of that period.

It is in very good condition with no repair, cracks or chips.

During the Qing dynasty, an essential part of the Chinese woman's costume was the doodoo, which was worn covering the chest. This one is fine silk with lovely embroidery and is lined with traditional blue silk. It measures 16 inches across and 17 inches high. excellant condition
