DESCRIPTION: A Chinese peach toggle (guajian) crafted from a flat piece of burl wood with large spreading leaves, representing longevity in Chinese iconography. Two holes on either side of the stem were used for threading a cord from which this toggle would have been suspended as a counterweight to some other object, such as a tobacco pouch. A nice example of Chinese folk art dating from the mid 1800’s or earlier, this toggle is in overall fine condition with aged patina...
A very rare large white Chinese vase. Very difficult to find an original white vase like this. The production of white glazed wares was not very large, yet their quality was generally rather high.This one has a symbol of a human figure painted inside most likely done by the those who owned the vase. Large pair of Chinese wooden gate doors with hand-forged iron plates and hardware. The pair of doors are opened by iron fu dog heads with large ring pulls in their mouths. The top and bottom iron plates on the front of each door have foliate edges in lingzhi mushroom motifs, with iron studs and horizontal iron bands. The doors have wooden pegs to be inserted into a door frame.

A large ovoid Chinese Martavan (aka Martaban) jar from the 16th/17th century. (Martavan jars were produced in China's southern region and shipped, via the port of Martabanin present day Myanmar, to various neighboring countries as storage containers for various commodities...these storage vessels became prized possessions by the local peoples.) The jar has a lovely honey brown colored glaze with bold dragon relief motif and loop handles around the shoulder...
A quite large mother of pearl shell carving, the pierced decoration is showing the deity Magu among birds and flowers. Condition: the rim with a short crack, without stand. Dimension: c. 20.5 cm long x 17.6 cm high.

Rare and endearing figure of a young boy disciple of Quanyin (the Goddess of Compassion) wearing a garment etched with a lotus flower - the symbol of Buddhism. He is often depicted near Quanyin with his hands in reverential prayer. The bronze is heavily cast and has wires imbedded underneath the pedestal, perhaps for attaching to a group of figures. Chinese snuff bottle made of 2 color overlay red on translucent peking glass. Of a flattened globe form, with a tapered neck with jadeite stopper. This bottle has hand-carved red peking glass figures of the 12 Chinese zodiac animals.

A large Chinese ceramic vase of a classic green tea dust glaze, with rich glaze "drips" along the inner rim and just above the foot, which is left bare along its edges and its recessed center glazed in tea dust. The vase has an angular form with concave neck and foot, with different sets of characters on its front and back in relief.

A very rare nicely moulded vase with a long ribbed neck that flares to a hexafoil rim. The hexagonal body is moulded with bands of flowers. The lower band has alternating patterns of lotus flowers and lotus leaves. There are two lion masks at opposite sides at the shoulder. The vase is covered in a light olive-grey glaze.

A small antique blue and white porcelain Chinese tea pot dating to the middle of the 19th Century. The design on the pot is of blue vines and peony flowers. A very rare white porcelain Song qingpai ewer with a clear pale bluish glaze. The body and shoulder of the vase have skillfully executed free-flowing scraffiato designs of florals and leaves. The tall cylindrical neck is encircled at the base by two horned dragons whose heads meet at the spout. The grooved loop handle is further decorated with eight small balls. The glaze pools in some areas creating a beautiful light watery blue...

Chinese heavy Limestone carved Slab with leafy floral design on one side and smooth plain on the other side, 19th century or earliker, 15"wide, 15" high, 11" deep-base. One big piece is off on the bottom.
A very unusual & original Han well with the "jing" design, symbol for well and two intertwined snakes for the handle. There is some iridescence at the bottom of the base of the green glaze from age. Green glaze was used to make it look like bronze. Size: H. 30.5cm W.16cm.

Three antique hexagonal Chinese silver cups decorated with figures, bamboo and plum twigs. Base marked "KC" and Chinese characters (according to Adrien von Ferscht: a silversmith active 1825-1900 in Canton). Two with original glass inserts. A pair of silk applique roundels for a robe, lavishly embroidered in satin stitch, tiny Peking knot and couched gold wrapped thread. One showing two boys at play, the other one depicting the immortal He Xiangu with attendant in a boat amidst flowers and auspicious symbols. Condition: slightly stained, the one with the boys has traces of former humidity, especially from behind. Dimension: 23.5 cm diameter.

A very large and superb quality bronze figure of Shou Lao, the God Of Longetivity, also called the undying, China, Ming Dynasty (1368-1644 AD).
The bronze figure with the well-known features of Shou Lao, in a wonderful Ming Dynasty style. The Stick and hand was cast seperately to the figure, and afterwards mounted as was costum during Ming Dynasty with the more difficult casting processes. A filled casting flaw on the back is also from the time of the making and typical for the period...

The stems of these flowering plants emanate from the abstract mountains at the 4 corners of the central frame. The floral center is framed in a large blue & white keyfret pattern that features 4 large pairs of abstract colorful flowers within the frame.
