A beautiful ivory white vase in the shape of a handled-wooden-bucket, the outside wrapped with woven bamboo forming an outer bamboo basket shell, with the handle wrapped in bamboo rope. Decor enamelled with a landscape fenced with hedges of dry branches, there are a prunus, a pine and on the ground young bamboo shoots which would signify the symbolic presence of the "three friends", on the collar is represented a Ho-ho (phoenix) which in Japan symbolizes the Empress. Some details are gold. The style is kakiemon but this small vase is atypical. It is difficult to date and also to locate with precision...

A shallow dish of octagonal form decorated with a design based on the so-called mesiande grid painted in reverse style, kakiwake, with a central motif of a stylised viewing rock and chrysanthemums, bordered by a series of eight tab like reserves containing further stylised vegetal motifs, apparently fusions of shida and warabi fern croziers and fronds with pine branches, matsu, and flowers, each framed by a stylised wave border...

9" 19th century Kakiemon plates, slightly rounded, with blue flower baskets over blue underglaze. There are blue sprays on the undersides, each bears a Fuku mark.

Condition: Excellent, no chips, hairlines or repairs.

A porcelain dish from the Nagasaki area, so not strictly “Ko Imari”, meticulously painted with an elaborate Leiwen border and a stylised Chinese style landscape in a light blue gosu. The reverse painted with three Lotus flowers with trailing Acanthus type scrolls in a contrasting dark blue gosu with a seal for the Kameyama kiln...

Very large tile in the shape of (and virtually in the size of) a handscroll decorated in underglaze blue with a crashing wave and a full moon. The image is surrounded by borders of geometric flowers and medallions filled with a phoenix. Some of the phoenixes looks left, others look right. Medallions colored in underglaze pink and yellow.

On the back are two ‘loops’ to hang the tile up...

Unusual 19th Century Japanese Imari fluted edged dish with an asymmetrical design featuring a basket of fruit and 3 butterflies. In excellent condition, it measures about 10 inches in diameter. Dates late 1800, Meiji Era.

Interesting Arita Imari bowl, late Edo with scalloped rim and panels with reserves of flowers and figural scenes of an elderly teacher (?) surrounded by pupils, the reserves contoured in raised overglaze black. Brocade or diaper patterns in green, red, blue and gilt surrounding a stylized turtle in underglaze blue.
