This boat-shaped basket, designed for flower arrangements, is well-crafted from strips of bamboo that is stained a rich, dark reddish-brown and had acquired areas of further dark patina from age and use. The ship form probably represents a so-called treasure ship (takarabune) signifying wishes for good fortune and is usually displayed during the New Year’s season...

Antique ukiyo-e style woodblock print by artist Utagawa Kunisada, also known as Utagawa Toyokuni III (1786-1865), of a samurai warrior blocking the strike of another warrior's sword with his own. He has very detailed undergarments in mesh-patterned blue with light pink flowers, a black and white robe with jagged designs and red trim with a blue obi, and a red headband, with his hair styled in a traditional chonmage...

Slightly distorted cylinder shaped (hanzutsu) tea bowl made of light, fine, unrefined Mino clay. Shape and style make it appear contemporary with the late Oribe bowls. The expertly thrown body is covered with the typical black oniita engobe inside and outside - with the exception of the bottom - over which a white, feldspatic Shino glaze has been poured.

Just the foot ring and its immediate surrounding was left unglazed...

A good pair of dragon menuki in nicely detailed patinated shakudo alloy and with gilt features. Late Edo period. Good condition but with glue adhering mostly to the back. Each little more than 1 5/8 inches (4.13 cm) long.

Antique Japanese bronze usubata made of woven bronze. An usubata is a floral arranging container for ikebana. The base is made in the form of an open weave bamboo basket with a six point star pattern. The top is a close weave. The handles are bamboo branches with leaves climbing over the basket. Meiji period 1868-1912. It measures 12" wide 11" tall.

This is Japanese Indigo dye shibori Baby boro kimono meiji(1868-1912). Baby's indigo dye shibori kimono is rare. Textile seems to be hand spun and woven. It is thick indigo dye cotton. There are a stain and little damage. It is warm very cotton of touch. The lining is also very charming. size:62cm x 65cm (24.4" x 25.6")

This is Tsutsugaki Hanten of the very big size of the Meiji era. As for this, the powerful face of the dragon is very impressive. The good cotton of this texture is spun by hand. The part of the sleeve has two or three places of slightly thin stains. It does not stand out.As for this, the state is complete. There is no damage. You can enjoy it in this. A beautiful hand painted Uchikake kimono with pine trees and rocks in sumi-e black ink (dye) style, a symbol of winter, New Year and the longevity. The fabric is Shioze silk (thicker than regular silk), not shiney as satin silk. Very well preserved; no stains. It is evenly discolored to a creamy color and still wearable. Circa, late Meiji to early Showa, 1900 to 1940.
