An antique Japanese Kasa No Dai (umbrella stand) made entirely of one solid block of burled Keyaki (Zelkova) wood. Entirely hand hewned and exquisitely carved into a wonderful sculpture of Japanese folkart (Mingei). Natural patina darkened over many years of careful use and display.

An antique Japanese tall Kasane Tansu (kimono storage chest) made of burled Keyaki (Zelkova), Kura (Mulberry), Kiri (Paulownia) and Sugi (Cryptomeria) woods. All original hand forged iron hardware including the Warabite style handles and the full moon lock plates. Upper section has a pair of sliding doors, a lift-out door and 6 drawers of varying sizes where Kimono fashion accoutrements were kept. Rustic round platter with wide rim, called ishizara in Japanese, used in kitchens and commoners’ households. Pale yellow glaze that typically leaves the foot free, turning a pale pink and then dark in the center. The plate is slightly warped, as is common with ishizara.

Japanese lacquer tray with a mountain stream and cranes in a raised landscape scene. This small/medium tray is about the best as they come in displaying many types of lacquer techniques including Maki-e, Hiramaki-e, and Takamaki-e with superb colors and fine gold nashiji work having shaped corners with concave edges. The cranes, pine trees, and mountains are all done in raised relief with the cranes showing incredible details...

A rare glazed, genuine SONG/YUAN glazed Celadon pot with molded flowers/foliage and 2 loops, 14th Century. The bottom glazed area also has a fine and rare molded flower motif. The foot itself remained unglazed. Diameter 7.5 cm x height 6 cm. This fine and rare Celadon was found in the Musi river, close to Palembang City, which was the Capital of the SRIVIJAYA KINGDOM, and which had a vast trade network with China and Siam. Overall condition good.

THIS POT WAS FOUND IN THE MUSI RIVER, CLOSE TO PALEMBANG CITY, WHICH WAS THE CAPITAL OF THE SRIVIJAYA KINGDOM AND WHICH HAD A VAST TRADE NETWORK WITH CHINA AND SIAM. OVERALL CONDITION VERY GOOD, ONE HARDLY NOTICEABLE, TINY INCONSEQUENTIAL CHIP ON THE TOP RIM. SIZE: HEIGHT 7.5 cm x 7 cm diameter.
