This toggle is carved from a single piece of carnelian agate of a rich brownish-orange tone and utilizes the naturally occurring white layer to produce a cameo of an elderly man, possibly a Taoist figure. The reverse is carved with a monkey climbing a banana tree with what appears to be a ruyi fungus. There are several holes or pits incorporated into the design, three of which are carved through allowing for attachment to a cord or chain...

Japanese antique Thick hand-spun otton tsutsugaki Horse cover of the Edo period.(1800-1867)The string currently attached to this is shirakage-shibori-dye. It is very impressive and beautiful. It is made of hand-spun and hand-woven and natural indigo dyed cotton. It has a thin stain. However, it is in a state good on the whole. size:190cm x 47cm (74.8" x 18.5")

A great small vase with chinese porcelain blossom trees in white on a black ground. The black glaze is a thick layer with "oil on water" effect. A greenish tone showing it's way to make the black enamels with a last layer of green glaze. Measurement: hight 19 cm = 7.5 in (with lid) Condition: Lid possibly not original. Lid with minor frittering. Vase with on ship at the rim. Further no restorations or damage.

Japanese antique small single section mizuya tansu (kitchen chest), hinoki (Japanese cypress) wood frame, with beautiful keyaki (elm) wood drawer fronts, three compartments with sliding panels all with black lacquer frames: top sliders with keyaki wood panels, middle sliders with textured glass, bottom sliders with glass backed by wooden lattice work; 6 drawers of various sizes, warabite shaped drawer pulls, Taisho Period. This jade tube is a celadon green with lighter inclusions that create mountain landscape-like patterns throughout. It has a soft even polish overall, including the interior and it is slightly translucent when held to the light. There are a few small nicks and minor abrasions to the rims, but it is in generally good condition. The interior is cut slightly off-center.

This pendant is carved in the shape of a peach and pomegranate in an orange-toned semi-translucent stone, having a slightly reddish tone toward the flower end of the pomegranate. The carving is of flattened low-relief form and the stone has a fairly high polish that has mellowed somewhat from wear. Good condition.

Very rare Daruma scroll from Futo Sanjin better known as Kanokogi Takeshiro, (1874-1941). He was mainly a western style - painter, studied in France before returning to Kyoto to establish his own school. In his later years was a juror for the esteemed Bunten and Teiten Art expositions. This lacquer box of square form has three slightly raised gold lacquer family crest designs on the lid. The stand and bowl of this vessel were cast separately and permanently joined at the time of production. The lid is topped with a lingzhi fungus. The entire piece is covered in an old brownish patina and small areas of verdigris. The lid fits very well into the grooved rim of the bowl. The lingzhi is cast as part of the lid, and has some areas of orange-ish patina. The interior of the stand is dark gray with some verdigris and the bowl interior is also a grayish tone...
