Fascinating Taisho Period C.1920 tea ceremony bronze tripod incense censor. Almost art deco in design and feel. The Murashi-do bronze was dipped in hot oi at firing to create the mottled patinated colorings. The handles are elephant heads. Chinese Porcelain red glazed bowl dating to the 20th Century. The bowl has a maker's mark on the bottom and added spot drilled markings on the interior. The bowl appears to be a communal eating bowl with an owners marking. The interior mark translates to "battle ax" which may indicate it was used by a military man. The bowl measures 2 1/4" high x 6 1/4" in diameter. Condition: The condition is excellent with the added mark and some kiln flaws. Free shipping within the USA.

Description:

A Houtien jade pendent was in flat cicada shape.
With original drilling holes at the tip for hanging, the jade piece was covered with unique black stone crust comparing to milky white tint of the pebble.
It was preserved in very good condition with one minute restoration to the lower right rim and some frets in a limited way.
They were caused from old age.

A cheerful family outing adorns this rich and colorful display of a day out in the country side. Dated to the late 19th and just prior to 1891. The ginger jar is in excellent condition without chips, hairlines, with very little rubbing of the details, hardly noticeable at all. It comes with a well formed lid that is beautifully designed. 7 inches high without lid (8.5" with lid) x 7" diameter.

Rare Serpentine-Jade Bird Feeder from China. Fine condition and very good color. Size: H. 1 1/8" x W. 2" including ring which enables locking the bowl securely by inserting a small bamboo stick through the holes on the outside of the bird cage.

Simple and refine elegance is what best describes this zisha yixing teapot of the 19th century, pure Chinese with little or no adornment, except a little calligraphy. Entirely crafted by hand with smooth walls inside and out, remarkably light weight for the size, yet it has perfect centered gravity. Handle and lid handle and spout are perfectly aligned. Signed Shaoshan (little Mountain) this is the artistic name for Shi Dabin, a late Ming dynasty yixing master...

Lozenge-shaped gilt bronze plate, embossed to represent a concentric decoration of stylized lotuses and geometric design with, at the center, a coral intaglio in relief representing the Hindu God Ganesha. Height: 2 3/8" (6,1 cm), length: 3 11/16" (9,3 cm). The plate is nicely mounted on a custom wood stand. Beautiful green and reddish partly encrusted patina. Very good condition. A rare piece.

From our Indian Subcontinent Collection, a good Kashmiri silver surahi (water flask), 19th century, of compressed globular base with elongated neck and attached stopper secured by linked silver chain, well-decorated with chased vegetal and floral designs typical for Kashmiri silversmithing of this period.
