Authentic antique 19th-century Indonesian-Javanese wayang topeng mask. It is finely carved from exotic wood, possibly Kelana wood, and has a naturalistic expression, with pierced eyes and nose. The mask's hair is sculpted and adorned with elaborately carved and gilt ornament, while the lacquer finish is applied with a natural hair mustache and Mica teeth...

Chinese famille rose vase combinations with celadon glazed. Blue and white qianlong mark at the base. Qing dynasty. 33 cm high. Vase in good conditions except two head of the bird on the ear ring has been repaired.

A healthy round-faced, plump figured, seated boy wearing a typical high hat of boy doll figures of the period. He is also wearing a checker-patterned loincloth. His hands are positioned under his chin, where he is holding his hat ties together. The stoneware was formed with a mold (you can see the faint molding line on both sides and underneath--it is not a crack.) The surface has a natural patina from age. Age: Late 19th Century. Grisaille / encre de Chine and iron red decorated semi-eggshell saucer, depicting a Mandarin family scene of a father wishing his wife and son a nice walk in the garden, she holding a fishing rod and the little boy with a bird in his hand, all surrounded by a border of flowers and conchs in European Rococo style. China, early Qianlong, c 1740. Diameter "4 ¾ / 12.2 cm. Condition: re-glued, some wear to the decoration and rim frits (cf. pics).

19th century repousse Chinese silver hat ornament in a shape of a Foo lion on a hollow base, its front paw on a free spinning filigree ball. During Qing Dynasty silver figures of traditional mythical characters were sewn onto hats for decoration. Beautifully made, crisp detailing of the beast and different plants around the base, will look much better once tarnish is cleaned. Weight 6.1 grams, height 1.37 inches.

19th century small wooden netsuke (works as ojime as well) carved as seated Zen Patriarch Daruma enveloped in his monastic robe. According to a legend he had fallen into deep trance, and sat meditating without moving for 9 years, so his feet withered. Skillfully carved out of ichii (yew wood) in characteristic Hida school style with clever use of wood color and structure to add to the charm of the piece. Nice patina, in great condition. Height 13/16 inches.

Finely cast, with nice details, miniature statue of bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara, standing on a lotus base, his left hand holding what seems to be a gourd. Bronze, with encrusted reddish green patina, with traces of the original gilding. China, Tang Dynasty. Height: 5.6 cm. The statue is nicely mounted on a custom wood stand. Good condition.

An absolutely stunning Edo period (1700s) Kuro Oribe Chawan covered in thick, ink-black crackle glaze and some fine cream colour with symbolic decoration.

It has an unidentified kiln mark.

The slightly irregular kutsu-gata form settles easily into the palm of the hand, with the built up rim resting lightly on the fingers. A high quality Japanese wood box is part of the offer.

No chips or repairs. Only natural inborn kiln cracks...

19th century glass ojime (slide bead for tightening the cord going from netsuke to inro) in ball shape with pink body and leaf and white cherry flowers. Beautiful surface, very pleasant patina, large central hole. Diameter 5/8 inches.

The body is decorated with incised floral patterns, the neck with banana leaf design. The handles are zoomorphic with integral rings. Height 16.8cm Diameter 11cm

Japanese Antique Iron Tetsubin with Bronze lid. Tetsubin has a Mount Fuji Shape. Kettle displays a fainted casting of a Japanese Kiri bird and phoenix on one side. A crane and turtle are also displayed along with a 5 character mark and cartouche medallion. Handle is thin, casted with bamboo nodes. Bottom of Tetsubin is in good condition. Nearly all the Ming Dynasty blue and white decorated covered boxes on the market are late Ming pieces of the Jiajing or Wanli period. This small, lovely coverbox is rare because it is a Ming Hongzhi period piece.( 1488 - 1505 ) Diameter : 4,6 cm. H : 3,6 cm.
