A timely and quirky soy brown glazed Korean War era chopstick holder with political slogans. The left hand column translates as “support your family and the Chinese military”, the right hand “oppose America, support Korea” and the top characters “increase productivity”. Possibly used in a factory canteen this is the only ceramic I have ever seen from this brief period...

Aesthetically withered wood carving Buddhist image with depth, Edo period, 19th century, Japan, approx. 15 x 4 x 3cm (5.90 x 1.57 x 1.18in)...

Very fine lacquer “siri” box from the Karen ethnic group in Northern Thailand. This has thick application of black lacquer and a fine naturally aged patina- circa 50 to 60 years old. There are two inner trays and is in good condition- there is one old repair at the bottom that may be noted in the last enlargement. H: 10.5cm4.1in and D: 9cm/3.5in.

Northern Song vitreous glazed over white slip Cizhou jar. Nice ivory toned piece emulating Ding ware. There is a simple repair on one side of the body which is pointed out in photos and chip on mouth rim. Dimensions: 13cm/2.9in width and 9.5cm/3.7in height. This from a Northern Kiln most likely Henan, or Shanxi.

A rare GENUINE SWATOW MING DYNASTY POLYCHROME BOWL, 1570-1650, with overglaze iron red and green. Fair overall condition, with some wear due to condiderable age inside the bowl. As common in SWATOW WARE, this bowl has sand/kiln/grit deposits on the bottom and outside and because of the high temperatures in the firing kiln, it is not perfectly level, but warped as shown in the photograph. Size: 21 cm. diameter. Very low price as warped!

This is the Mule of Toba in cast bronze, lacquered in red and cream. The animal is represented lowering its head. His rider, Toba has disappeared. Porcelain vase in the shape of a gourd with Imari decor. The vase is mounted on a lathe. It is decorated in the Imari style in blue, red and gold with flowers on a background with stylized geometric cracks in cobalt blue inspired by frost. The base is without glassure. The collar seems a little short but it is not cut because the edge is covered with enamel. Height 22cm. There is a small chip and a slight 1cm crack that can be seen in the enlarged photo...

Early 19th century Chinese bronze scroll weight in a shape of a striding qilin. Wonderful depiction of the benevolent beast, superbly captured dynamic posture, great detailing of his scales, face and flames licking its body. Excellent wear and patina, superb object for a scholar’s desk. Length 2 inches.
