Rare Chinese Western Han Dynasty Bronze Cauldron / Jar

This domestic bronze cooking vessel was made during the Western Han Dynasty (206 BC - AD 8) or possibly earlier. It has two handles on opposing sides of the shoulder. It is quite "heavily-cast" and the casting lines are quite pronounced, especially across the flat base. There is some corrosion, mostly to the base where it comprises mostly malachite (green) and azurite (blue)...

Good Tang Dynasty gray clay brick/tile depicting “Atlas” type, Yakshi figure seated on a lotus blossom. I was in Taxila, (cradle of Gandharan Civilization) and saw a similar figure. This illustrates the Greco/Roman influence in Tang art. The lotus shows indicates an obvious Buddhist connection. The left side of the face is molded a bit obscure, but no damage. In abstract form, a pair of stone tiger weights of Han dynasty was preserved in original excavation condition.
Covered all over the surface with adhering earth coatings, the images of recumbent tigers were still revealed by the silhouettes.
Han-Bar-Dao, a typical carving skill of Han Dynasty was used on two of the pieces.
In simple and clear carving skill, the images of two tigers were vaguely and subtly rendered...

A very rarely offered complete polychrome pottery figural vessel, Aztec / triple alliance Empire, c. 1200-1500 AD.

Interesting vessel that is both anthropomorphic and zoomorphic. A bulbous vessel with the figure having small limbs and with a small head with facial tattoos, probably a chieftain or Shaman. He is sort of holding on to the jar backwards with his diminutive hands. On the side of the vessel a protruding Feline or Dog head.

This beautiful Eden point was found in Oregon. It is made from multi-colored petrified bog wood. It has short flutes on both sides. It has a medium ridge on both faces and a ground base. Parallel flaking. It is 2 3/4" long. There is no damage on this point at all. Very fine flaking and an early point. G-10. Purchased from Richard E. Bachman. A lovely Chinese Tang dynasty green glaze censer burner. Unlike Snacai glazes are lead glaze, the glaze of this censer is more milky like Jun glaze, that's why I am thinking this censer is from Changsha kiln but can't 100% sure. This whopping point is 4 7/8" long and 2 1/4" wide. Lar Hothem calls it a very scarce 1st stage St. Charles Dovetail. Tom Davis authenticated it as a Lost Lake, G-9. It is made from semi-translucent high quality burlington chert. It has excellent mineralization and patina. It has a very clear imprint of a fossilized shell on the upper left about a 1/4" from the tip, making this a no-brainer for authenticity. It was found near St. Louis, Missouri. Very rare small celadon Yueyao lugged jar from a Zhejiang Kiln, circa Five Dynasties/Early Northern Song. This type of ceramic was a precursor to Longquan ware. There is a firing crack and some fritting (caused by pockets of air trapped beneath the glaze during firing) on one side- noted in enlargements. D: 9cm/3.5in and H: 6cm/24in.

Elegant Apulian plate covered with black, shiny metallic glaze. The shallow floor with a low sloping rim with flattened top. Impression from the foot of another dish on the floor.
Low foot with bevelled molding at the bottom. Slight fingermarks around the foot where the plate was held for dipping into the black glaze. Covered with a fine black glaze of metallic lustre.
The expert modeling and the application of a glossy black glaze suggest that the plate was inspired by metal exam...
