A Karatsu ware tea bowl with gold mending. It has simple paintings which is called E-karatsu. Karatsu ware has been produced in the east part of Saga Pref. and the north part of Nagasaki Pref. in Kyushu since late 16th century. Age is not clear. It is possible that is made by modern artist. However, kintsugi (mending by gold) is enjoyable. Diameter:15cm, Height:5cm
Rare antique Chinese silk brocade panel woven with polychrome peonies; intricate silk tapestry.
The panel is backed with beige color silk.
Measurements : 27 inches long x 60 inches wide
Diameter approximately 41 cm. In good condition.
This is a large amulet with two holes for suspension and was most probably used as a chest piece (pectoral). The polish is so spectacularly well done that the piece feels as smooth as silk when held. The large central hole gently tapers on both sides. It measures a full 4" in length and is 2-1/2" in height. Roughly 1/8" thick. In color a varied green nephrite with a minimal residue of the polishing material remaining on the surface.
A beautiful example of Shigaraki pottery—the result of techniques perfected over centuries by dedicated artisans residing in the provinces east of Kyoto. This piece achieves a kind of asymmetrical balance of both form and color, displaying classic Shigaraki markings of emerald green, red ochre, and pale ash.

Set of 8 panels carved in a beautiful hardwood probably rosewood. They are very finely openworked with stylized dragons moving in scrolls. In the center a bone inlay. The cutouts as well as the details are very skilfully executed. Probably pieces of furniture.
Probably china but perhaps vietnam. The largest panel measures 215mm.
Bone inlays are missing.

An antique Japanese 2 section merchant display Tansu made of Hinoki (Cypress) and Tochinoki (Horse Chestnut) woods. Each section has a split level shelf. The bottom section includes 4 side by side drawers where additional store inventory was stored. Constructed using double through mortise and tenon joinery for added strength.

A magnificent Kogaratsu Katakuchi Chawan (Ko-Karatsu tea bowl with a pouring spout), fired between the Azushi Momoyama period (1573-1603) and the early stage of the Edo Period (1603-1868).
It is no exaggeration to say that this tea bowl needs to be described as a true museum quality piece of art.
Especially such old Karatsu bowls are rarely available in the version of a Katakuchi bowl.
