A fine Japanese hirado porcelain okimono of a recumbent horse. The horse has a whimsical expression. Its eyes are left unglazed with blackened pupils, its unglazed teeth exposed in a wide grin, the corners of the mouth and nostrils pierced through. Touches of cobalt blue underglaze accent the hooves and snout of the horse. The base is impressed with maker's cartouche.

Chinese miniature porcelain tea caddy with gold decoration. All the gold painting is intact and shows no wear which is pretty amazing. Dates mid to late 1700's, it is a fantastic little piece for the collector. In excellent condition, that is as originally made, the only imperfections are little pin pricks in the firing which is normal. This had a cork stopper which is inside the caddy. Measures 3" high x 2" wide x 1/2". Dates 2nd half 1700's.
This traditional antique Chinese childs top was made using a fine, deep royal blue damask silk with black silk trim. From a wealthy family, this top was padded for winter use, has all the original frog and monkey fist knot closures, and a hand embroidered rondel with lots of couching and seed stitches (aka forbidden stitch)
Rather unusual late 18th to early 19th century Japanese bronze temple decoration fixture of a tennin - a female buddhist angel - as it flies playing a Shu - Japanese musical instrument from a flute group used in Shinto ceremony and consisting of bamboo reeds forming a circular wind chamber. Wonderful design, beautiful flow of her billowing scarves, gilded highlights, great patina. Very well cast, pleasantly heavy, peg on the back for fixing it to a temple or pedestal wall. Length 6 inches.
A good bronze bombe form censer with rare figural decoration. The base carries the six character mark of the Ming Xuande Emperor but this item was made much later during either the late 18th or early 19th Centuries (c1790 - 1850).

Chinese Blue and White Dish, Plate, Ca. 1920, 5 3/8" diameter, 1" high, with underglaze Peony flower in the center, sprigs of vine with leaves in the center of the dish and blue rim, Chinese Character on the bottom, in good condition.
Two characters on this Japanese banner are Yoshitsune (Minamoto family) and Noritsune (Taira family). It was towards end of the Genpei War (1180-1185), Yoshitsune (Minamoto family) flying high on the top escaping the attack of Noritsune (Taira family). Yoshitsune was said to hopped eight boats at this scene...
A large Chinese snuff bottle, well hollowed, carved from a celadon jade pebble with brown sections. The front side showing a relief of a monkey at a vine. The stopper is made from turqoise glazed ceramic with bone spoon. Condition: few traces of usage. Dimension: total length: c. 9.3 cm, c. 5.5 cm wide, c. 3.2 cm deep.

This is a lime glazed bowl with a lime green ruyi at the upper band of the bowl and the lotus lappet at the bottom of the bowl just before the foot rim. In between the lime green ruyi band and lotus lappet are a mirror image bat or wufu surrounding the character shou or longevity. Between the two wings of the bats, on the left and right, they appear to be holding a lotus flower. Alternating between the pair of wufu is a swastika...
Antique Japanese small tansu chest made all of kiri (paulownia) wood. The chest is configured with seven drawers of various sizes: 3 small drawers above 2 medium drawers above 2 large drawers. Black iron hardware includes 7 round lock plates, circular corner bracing and square drawer pulls.

Wonderful Japanese 2-panel byobu screen painting, 2 intricately painted Meiji Period fans, probably once used in a Noh performance and later mounted on a screen, each fan is painted in colorful mineral pigments with gold leaf, the fan on the left depicts white wild flowers blossoming near a meandering stream with billowing gold mist, the fan on the right is painted with a scene of 3 cranes flying over sea crests and a weeping willow tree, the two fans are mounted on a ground of gold flecks...
The vase has a bulbous body that tapers to a wide neck that rises to a shallow, rounded rim, and is covered allover and inside the foot with a glaze of soft, slightly greyish sea-green color with guan crackled type.
Southern Song 12th-13th century. Condition : a minor fritt, no chips, hairlines or cracks and free from restoration. Diameter: 11 cm
