porcelain kuan-yin enameled in iron red and copper green. Green enamel has an unusual iridescent metallic appearance that seems to be peculiar to an era or a production site. The statuette is made in a mold in 2 parts, the joint is visible below. The unglazed parts, at least the base, were covered with lacquer and gold which have disappeared leaving only traces (look photo).

This pair of marked Guang Xu Period (1875~1908) Famille Rose plates are 1 inch deep and 6 ¾ inches in diameter. They depict a long-tail bird and butterfly in a flower garden. The workmanship is wonderful. The gold edging has worn off slightly. There is one small hairline crack in one plate and an old repair in the other one.
Charming antique Japanese small 2-panel byobu (screen painting), painted with blossoming chrysanthemums in raised gofun, on right panel is a blue bird in flight, delicately painted with wonderful detail, mineral colors and gofun on paper with gold leaf ground, signed and seal by Yano Yoshitaka (1800-1858). Edo Period. Regarding the artist, records remain of his existence in the Higo Kumamoto Clan (Higo Hosokawa) official records...
A rare Song dynasty Hutian Qingbai bowl, rounded side with wide open rim and unglazed base, bowl decorated with carved flower motif at interior, flower shape rim, bowl is products of Hutian in Jiangxi.
Bowl is in good condition with minor damage at the rim restored and faint hairline at the rim.
