Jar decorated with white glaze on the body, unglazed base. PERIOD : Song Dynasty(960-1279 AD) MEASUREMENTS: 6.5 cm width, 5.5 cm height CONDITION: excellent, no chips, cracks, hairlines and free from restorations.

This is a very unique copper alloy or bronze axe head. It is possibly Elamite in origin. It appears to be an early piece based on the reddish brown patina that is typical of high copper content pieces. It does appear to have been cleaned at some point. The socket is rectangular. There is a perforation on either side of the socket for attachment to the shaft pole. There is also a perforation in the rear blade which may or may not be original to the piece...

Beautiful antique Japanese temple scroll from the Edo period (1615 -1867). The Buddha has left his physical being and attained enlightenment. After one of his close followers prepares a bed under the sal trees for him, the buddha dies. All the beings of the earth, good, evil, divine, and animal mourn his departure. The buddha is painted in gold leaf. Sumie ink and mineral colors. Provenance: from a Montclair, California estate. It measures 46" wide by 94" long.

Antique Burmese hardwood box with inlaid spiral motifs, the inlaid name "H.R. Pelly" is seen at the top of the lid and may denote the name of the past owner. The hinged lid locks via a front keyhole, and each side has a recessed metal handle. Size: 7" height, 17.75" width, 12" depth

19th century repousse Chinese silver sew-on clothing ornament in a shape of a Chinese sage riding a deer. During Qing Dynasty silver figures of traditional mythical characters were sewn onto clothing and hats for decoration. Nicely made from low grade silver, small holes around perimeter for sewing onto clothes, will look much better once tarnish is cleaned. Height 1.78 inches.

Late 18th Century Gonin-Bayashi, Five Japanese Musicians displayed on a Hina stand. This set was made as an addition to those Ningyo already displayed on a tiered stand. They imitate a Noh orchestra. This set has very finely carved faces, covered with burnished Gofun. Because of their size and age, these are highly desired by collectors. Average height of figures is 4 inches (10 cm).

A pair of Chinese cloisonne incense burners in the shape of celestial cocks with fishes as their tails. Late 19th to early 20th century. Chogappo made of fragments of ramie which is recycled from old textiles. Pojagi is the general name for the wrapping cloth and "chogappo" is one kind of pojagi which is patchworked with asa (choma or hemp) fragments.
