This small carved jade plaque was certainly the element of the central part of a Ruyi scepter, a symbol of the power of Chinese leaders. The plaque is finely carved with deep patterns, we can distinguish a bat, a symbol of happiness, and a vase of lotus flowers. The vase could mean abundance and the flowers seem to be Buddhist Lotuses unless they are immortal peonies. Cup with handles cut from white Celadon jade. Decorated with “nails” in relief in the archaic style. The two handles stand out widely from the cup. The handles of this type of cup were most often damaged and restorers have partially reduced or even completely eliminated them. The one presented here has exceptionally preserved its handles in their entirety. One of the two has probably been slightly damaged and ground as we can see in the photos...

Good Qing Dynasty, Chinese nephrite jade carving of a lotus seed pod. In Chinese culture this symbolizes fertility and a desire to have many children on another level the lotus reflects purity, strength and rebirth- as it rises from the mud and blooms into something beautiful. H: 3.5cm/1.4in and W: 4.2cm/1.6in x 3.1cm/1.3in. Good condition- no chips or cracks. 61grams.

A Chinese archaic pale green jade sword chape carved on one side with four linear designs, the reverse with a coiled dragon, 5cms wide, Western Han dynasty (202BC - 9AD). A similar chape was sold at Bonhams London, 18/5/23, lot 28, Keverne collection. Another sold at Christie's New York, 17/3/16, lot 920.

The mahjong set is in a perfect condition. Provenance: Bonhams, San Francisco

This is an authentic Neolithic Hongshan jade object, described in the literature as "hoof-shaped." Current scholarly opinion is that it was used to hold the individual's hair, based on where these objects have been found in excavated tombs. The piece measures 4-1/2" in height and is 2" in diameter. As with most published examples, it has two holes near the base which would have allowed the insertion of a "pin" to hold the hair in place...

Early to mid 19c light greyish/celadon jade medallion in circular form having a central Kylin surrounded by symbols. Superbly carved and pierced with the finest details with a worked edge having the back indented and smoothly finished. This medallion was probably removed from a cloisonne or bronze wine ewer or censor. This piece is of the finest caliber, showing a wonderful hand polish all the way through and in perfect condition. Size 2-1/4" Diameter and nice thickness...

Small jade buckle cut with a grinding wheel, representing a dragon (chilong) curved on itself in the archaic style of the Han period. It is said that this type of buckle was used to suspend a sword on the belt. artist has excellently represented the small animal harmoniously curled up on itself and ready to pounce. The details are perfectly sculpted. The jade is slightly greyish-celadon white, not "fat sheep white". Photos are correctly representative of the color...

Covered vase in nuanced ocher jade, decorated in relief with a grinding wheel with Taotie masks. Very good quality of sculpture. The stone is probably fire-patinated to imitate the color of archaic jade as was usually the case in the Ming Dynasty. It is impossible for me to date such an object. It is old, probably from the 18th century but could be earlier. Good condition, except for a few dents on the lid that can be seen on an enlarged photo. Height: 12cm.
