This is a large and heavy ancient Chinese nephrite scepter or adze.Measuring slightly more than a foot in length, the piece has two beveled ends, suggesting that it may have been intended for actual use, as opposed to a ritual item. The dull polish of the stone would lead us to date it to the end of the Qing or earlier.
