A beautiful late 19th C. Chinese red lacquer cinnabar carved small vase with landscape scene and people motif. Excellent carving workman skill in excellent condition. H: 4"(without stand)

This peach shape 19th century cinnabar box is 4 inches high and 8 inches wide. The carved scene depicts one person riding a horse and two other people on foot in the foreground. The background is composed of pine trees, brush and rocks. The sides are decorated with a textile pattern. There are a few old repairs and some chips on the bottom. It is still in pretty good condition.

Antique Chinese square faceted box made of black lacquered wood with inset rattan panels. The top of the box is decorated with a rural scene of court figures in a garden painted in gold lacquer on a black lacquer ground. The box stands on small feet and cut-out details on the bottom portion of the box are lacquered red. A beautiful overall crackle of the lacquer speaks of the box's age.

This is a traditional Chinese pack saddle which were used throughout China for carrying various sacks of grains and goods. The front is carved foo dogs and there is a key carved decoration around the border. It is unusual to find this type saddle with the painted black lacquered finish. This one was probably owned by a wealthy family and used only for special events...

This antique Chinese rectangular serving tray is elaborately inlayed with Mother of Pearl. The ornate MOP design covers the surface of the tray and also goes about the exterior face of the narrow rim. Wood is most likely ebony and tray dates from mid 18th century.

Condition: All the MOP inlay is intact but there are numerous tiny nicks and chips in the surface finish on the inside and outside edges of the rim surround...

Red and black lacquer applied over a bronze jar form with interior and base glazed with thick deep brilliant blue enamel. The bronze jars are first applied with red cinnabar lacquer which has been finely-carved with an undulating wave design. Overlying the red is a thick layer of well-carved black lacquer landscapes including rocky cliffs, trees, islands, dwellings and boats. Republic or a little later, black and red lacquered “Dou” offering stem bowl (usually fruit) for an ancestral altar table, with gilt garden and scholar’s theme. This from Guangdong and made for a Chaozhou family, aka Teo Chew, aka Chiu Chow. W: 21cm/8.2in and H: 13cm/5.1 in. There is some warpage, noted in enlargements but if just turn it the right way you won’t notice.
