The design of a Crab is common on Kangxi dishes and dishes of later Qing Dynasty Periods. On dishes of the Ming Dynasty the decoration of a Crab is quite rare. Diameter : 11,8 cm. Well potted very white porcelain body ( Dehua Ware ) with an simple but quite decorative cobalt blue underglaze decoration. Diameter : 9,4 cm. H : 5 cm. Condition : Nearly invisible V - shape hairline and another short extremely fine, neary invisible hairline.

This thinly potted bowl stands out by its nice decoration, in particular by the delighful represented deer which is part of this decoration. Wonderful deep Cobalt blue. Ming Dynasty, Jiajing Period ( 1522 - 1566 ) Diameter : 11,1 cm. H: 5,4 cm. Condition : Perfect. There is a very very minute fritting to the rim which is quite normal for Jiajing pieces but there is no chip and no crack and there is a nice sound when tapped.

The bowl is decorated inside with ducks and enamel plants in the style of the "Famille Verte" we find the colors fired at low temperature aubergine, green, some very rare touches of blue and the fragile iron red, detail in gold. The outlines of the subjects are either black or red. The circles are in underglaze cobalt blue fired higth fire...

Swatow ware, late Ming period ( sixteenth century ) very nice glaze. Diameter : 27,8 cm. Condition : Perfect. With our Stock # 588 we also do offer a quite similar, but slightly smaller dish. ( Please have a look at Stock # 588 )
