Set of 3 “Socialist Kitsch”, porcelain brush pots with green Jingdezhen “China” marks inside the “bi” shaped footrims, circa 1960s-1970s. These all have the same mark and same dimensions H: 12cm/4.8in and D: 8.4cm/3.2in. Relatively good Jingdezhen quality porcelain, and simple polychrome decorations with revolutionary slogans. These were meant for mass consumption but amazingly little of it remains today...

Chinese Qing to Republic period porcelain lion dog seated with an open mouth revealing ferocious teeth and a well-formed protruding tongue, covered overall with a golden amber glaze. 8 1/2" high x about 8" long. Early 20th century. An old price tag is adhered to the unglazed base. Very good overall condition with possibly a tiny loss or production flaw to the side of one tooth. The subject was executed in large quantities but the one we present here today is more interesting than usual because its yellow color is particularly appreciated in China, its expression is beautiful and it is in perfect condition...

A small undecorated white porcelain bucket fits into a porcelain container decorated with enamel birds. Below mark of Tong-Zhi, one of the last Chinese Emperor. The porcelains of this reign are usually of very low quality, our porcelain is an exception, indeed the birds are well drawn, precision and elegance. Offered is a lovely and rare Chinese porcelain octagonal saucer, dating to the Kangxi period, circa 1720. It measures about 4 3/8 inches or 11 cm across. While octagonal saucers with this general pattern of panels and blooms are sometimes seen, they are typically in white with the pattern in blue. This appears to be a variant (perhaps for the Islamic market) wherein cobalt blue is the dominant color, reinforced by the comprehensive gilding...
