A very large jade disc carved with a hole in the center. Both sides of this central hole are lipped which is very rare in "bi's." Compared with flat bi's, lipped bi's require a lot more carving and are much more difficult to make. The bi is beautiful with its complex colors and patterns. The colors range from cream to greys, ochres, greens and blues.Period: Neolithic ( 3rd millennium B.C.)

Chinese tomb pottery figure of an foreign army general. He stands confidently with chin up and arms bent. His fists are clenched and most likely he once wielded a spear or weapon of some sort. His armor is elaborately carved with swirling motifs and he wears a helmet with round finial. His eyes are wide and his teeth are defined in an intense expression. He is sculpted with great care and traces of slip pigment are still apparent where he was once painted...

Small four legged portable Buddhist altar with a statue of bearded Bodhisattva Padmapani standing on an elevated and stylized lotus throne and holding a gourd in his left hand. This is a fantastic pottery tile from the Han Dynasty (206 BC - 220 AD) with a heavy relief of a musician. This tile is in excellent condition and shows no signs of repair or restoration. It measures roughly 24 cm square and is roughly 4 cm thick. It weighs an impressive 7 pounds. This is a spectacular specimen of ancient Asian artwork suitable for any museum or high end private collection.

In abstract form, a pair of stone tiger weights of Han dynasty was preserved in original excavation condition.
Covered all over the surface with adhering earth coatings, the images of recumbent tigers were still revealed by the silhouettes.
Han-Bar-Dao, a typical carving skill of Han Dynasty was used on two of the pieces.
In simple and clear carving skill, the images of two tigers were vaguely and subtly rendered...

The statue is mounted on a custom plexi stand. Mandorla partly missing, soil encrustation, otherwise good condition.

A stone carved Han lion scratching his ear used as a weight. These weights were used to hold down the corners of tents and other tied down items.The ropes were tied to the leg that is scratching the ear. Size: L.20cm. W. 9.5cm.Condition: No repairs. Normal wear.

Chinese rare Sancai glazed pottery figure of a standing horse. The saddle pad is glazed with four colors including a rare blue. The saddle itself is covered with a vermillion slip and naturalistically modeled with sweeping folds of fabric. Most exquisite is the graceful arching of the horses neck, the slight turn of the perfectly proportioned head, and one whimsically turned back ear. With TL test papers.

Here is an ancient marble weight which was carved as a hare in crouching posture.
It was believed being used as a stone weight in 6th century to 9th century.
Well carved in vivid look, the piece was left on the suface with ancient residues in the crevices of the limbs.
The stone quality was in greasy and smooth feel.
It was well preserved despite some defects on four corners of the base...

A very finely cast statue of Bodhisattva Manjusri wearing diadem and formal attire, holding a book in his left hand, his right hand in argumentative posture. Manjusri is sitting cross-legged on an elevated lotus throne resting on the back of a stylized lion, itself standing on a rounded base. Bronze with dark-green patina. Traces of an original lacquering and gilding. China, early Ming Dynasty. Height: 6 1/4" (16 cm). Tiny part of diadem missing, otherwise very good condition.

An early Chinese Buddhist sculptural relic. Wood figure of "thousand armed" Avalokiteshvara. Originally with 18 arms, the figure retains only four arms. The surface, with remnants of lacquer and gilt, substantially distressed. Late Song or early Yuan dynasty. The base appears to be a tightly grained, dense and heavy hardwood with nice, undulating figure in the grain - likely zitan. Figure height (not including base), 8 5/8 inches.

Statue of the Judge of the Souls, standing in formal attire, holding the register of merits and demerits of human souls in both hands. Patinated wood, with traces of the original polychrome pigments in the recesses. China, early Ming Dynasty, probably earlier. Height: 13" (33 cm).
