Black - brown iron glaze on a stoneware body. South China thirteenth to fourteenth centuries. Lovely small meiping from Northern China, circa 1000CE- possibly Liao.. I have repaired it with epoxy and 23k gold leaf (wabi sabi kintsugi). This is a high fired gray stoneware dipped in a white slip and then fired with translucent overglaze. Condition as is, attractive wood stand included. :11.8cm/4.7cm and D: 7.2cm/2.9in.

A Chinese, Yaozhou, bowl of conical form; C10-12th. Lightly potted and of refined aesthetic, the deep flaring sides rising from a short spreading foot, covered overall with an olive-green glaze. Diameter, 12.9 cm.   Condition: good. Free from cracks, chips or repair. Light surface wear; consistent with age. There is some mottling to the appearance of the glaze; see photos.

Large Song Celadon bowl, olive green in color. In very good condition without chips or cracks. There is an incised flower pattern in the bottom of the bowl. Otherwise, small fritting /granulation is evident in the bottom of the bowl and a couple of these may have been compromised/worn down. Nice overall symmetrical shape and crackle in the glaze is quite faint. Diameter: 7 plus inches and 3 inches in height.

A Junyao bowl with purple splash and surface corroded by time, measuring 10cm diameter and 4.2 cm height in good condition

This old Chinese stoneware ceramic pipe bowl (smoke chamber) would have been placed onto the smoking pipe to allow for a small piece of opium to be smoked. The tiny opening at the top would allow the smoke to be drawn into the stoneware chamber and cooled before being inhaled by the smoker.

The piece has 2 different makers marks which are clearly stamped into each side of the clay underside of bottom hole.

A nice potted Song Dynasty Henan ware pot and a definitely wonderful glaze. This very decorative piece comes from resp. was in use in an old temple in Klungkung, east Bali. This is a cizhou style wine jar in a baluster shape from the Yuan dynasty (1277-1367 A.D). It stands on a shallow short recessed foot-rim like a stand and then everted outward like a short “C” shaped pedestal and the everted outward and upwards to a baluster shaped body with a flat shoulder and then straight upwards towards a very short neck mouth rim. Tall Chinese Song dynasty brown glazed tapering form horizontal ribbed vase. The glaze was poured into the interior while the top shoulder of the jar was left unglazed. 14” high. Circa 13th century. The unglazed base has significant grit adhering from the kiln which causes the vase to be slightly slanted and a bit unstable. There are small chips along the rolled mouth. This is a greenish glazed bowl dated to the Northern Song Dynasty. It stands on a short foot rim with a recess base. On the cavetto, it is divided into four sections of incised abstract cloud like drawings. It has a shade of greenish-grey glaze.

Richly glazed in deep blue this Chinese jar has a dark brown glazed interior to accommodate liquid storage. The lid has an embossed Chinese symbol for longevity which suggests to me the jar's intent was to store something special for your health and well being. This is a Northern Song dynsty qingpai hexafoil bowl from the well known hetian yao or hetian kiln. It has a very artistically free hand incised flower on the cavetto and center of the bowl. It has a beautiful sky blue colour.

It is an astonishing vase which does not resemble anything known.The shape is very elegant and the decor simple but powerful. But I have absolutely no idea what it is. It is probably buffed sandstone rather than terracotta. The decoration presents a dragon in slight relief pursuing the sacred pearl. The decoration seems to me molded rather than sculpted.
