Painted in thick blue enamels surrounding an overall floral pattern in pale green and turquoise. A cartouche with a design of a bird among flowers is painted in famille rose pallet on the two large sides. A hanging tassel design is on the two narrow sides. The lid rests on top of the mouth and is painted with a single open flower. The base is unglazed. There are two glaze chips on the shoulder and a crack to the interior collar of the lid...

Early to mid 1800s

Painted in famille verte enamels, one side showing a woman in a scholar’s studio, and the other side showing a child and a seated woman. On the long narrow sides are scenes of a woman gazing out a window into a garden. The scenes are bordered on the sides by a diamond lozenge pattern as if it were the brocade framing a hanging scroll. The smaller narrow sides have a pierced double coin design surrounded by flowering branches...

Late 1800s

Glazed on the biscuit with green, yellow and brown enamels. On the base are three unglazed spots on which the piece was fired. Stopper in the form of bat, handle in form of stem and spout in the form of blossom. Very good condition with only minor construction flaws glazed over in the firing.

Set of six glazed miniatures made for an altar to be interred in the tomb of an upper-class person. Made in the shape of nuts, vegetables, a boar’s head, ingots and long rolls to provide symbolic sustenance in the afterlife...

Ca. late 1800s.

Skillfully painted on the interior with a scene of a mountainous landscape with waterfalls and scholars’ residences, loosely in the manner of the late Ming/early Ching artist, Wang Jian.

The transparent glass is slightly grayish in tone and the vase’s interior has been evenly ground to create a frosted background to the painting. The artist was probably a professional snuff bottle painter.

A etremely rare Kanton enamelled gilt-copper European-subject snuff bottle. Qianlong mark and period ( 1736 - 1795 ). Provenance : From an old Austian Family collection, in the past sold at the famous Austrian Auction house Dorotheum and according to Dorotheum`s expert Mrs. Dr. Jorinde Ebert this rare piece at least was for the past 150 years in this family collection. The spoon is lost. H : 2,6 inc ( 6,8 cm )

This early 20th century ivory carved beauty is 10 3/4 inches tall, 2 ½ inches wide and 2 inches thick. She wears a simple and elegant robe and holds a bouquet of flowers. The black metal stand is a later custom made piece. The statue is in excellent condition.

Late 19th century Chinese fan shaped ivory carving with stand. One side depicts a well known battle scene from “ A Tale of the Three Kingdoms”; the other side presents an etched picture of two dragons. It is in excellent condition. It is 4 5/8 inches high (7 ¼ inches with stand), 10 ¾ inches wide and half of an inch thick.

A Large and Fine Kesi of “Boys Play”: Chinese, 19th Century, This is framed professionally and well preserved, the silk tapestry finely woven with boys at play in a landscape ground including a group of imitating the emperor, kite flying, studying in the pavilion, playing catch, playing music, teasing, playing with crickets, playing blind boy’s bluff and etc, all below swirling clouds and under blue sky woven, executed predominantly in shades of red, grey, pink, black and white, aube...

This is a classical form Song dynasty small longquan or celadon dish with moulded appliqué twin fish in the centre and an everted flatten rim. The dish is glazed with an uneven sea green or aquamarine glaze with crazing instead of the standard green colour.

There is no repair or restoration. Minor abrasion on the base and a small stone pits covered with the glaze near the cavetto which does not affect the aesthetic of the dish (picture 2 at 12 o’clock)...

A rare persimmon glazed Dingyao type covered bowl. It stands on a short unglazed footring, showing the white fine-grained body and everted to a straight persimmon glazed body. The inside of the bowl is glazed white with a burnt black spot in it. The inner mouth rim is unglazed. The cover of the bowl is of mild dome shaped with a small finial, which is likely to be of lotus bud...

There have been decorative textiles sewn into squares or rectangular shapes since the Edo period in Japan. The small squares are made for tea ceremonies; the medium to larger sized ones (called fukusa) are used to cover seasonal and ceremonial gifts. This old Chinese panel was acquired in Japan mixing into our fukusa collection.

A dragon and phoenix together symbolize the emperor and empress in China...

Only a wealthy Chinese woman would have been able to own this rare antique silk headband. Decorating each side of the headband are mirror images of an ornament depicting a bird and using the prized Kingfisher bird feathers. Intergrated with each kingfisher bird ornament is a finely embroidered bird on a branch.

This is a large bowl with deep sides rising from a short flared foot gradually for the first two-thirds, then steeply to a lightly indented vertical lip. The interior of the bowl is covered with glossy iron-rich black glaze with five lustrous russet-silvery glaze streaks, like a star, radiating from the base with the black glazed background...

Wonderful Chinese tomb pottery figure of a camel, molded gray clay with multi colored Sanghai glaze, wonderful lines and stance, Tang Dynasty (AD 618 - 907). Has Oxford TLT Test papers. Size: 14 3/4" high x 12" wide x 4" deep.

A Qing Dynasty Blue and White Dish from the Diana Cargo.

Provenance: Chrisitie's, March 1995

The glaze has wear off due to the long period of exposure in sea water. Otherwise it is in good condition. No chip, crack, repair or restoration.

The measurement of the dish is: Diameter 27.6cm and the Height is 5cm.

This is Song Dynasty (960 – 1276) yingqing jar with cover. The motif on top of the cover is moulded. On the body, just below the neck, on the shoulder, it is incised with what looks like S-shaped sunray, on the centre part of the body, it is incised with lotus flowers and foliage and at the lower part towards the base, it is incised with upright leaf lappets.

Some minor abrasions. There are no chip, crack, restoration or repair...

This 19th century Chinese Famille Rose vase is 9 ¼ inches high and 4 ¼ inches on the widest part. It depicts traditional Chinese legendary figures “San Xin.” These three noblemen represent longevity, good fortune and prosperity. It has a red maker’s seal “Yu Yuan Chang made” on the bottom. It is in excellent condition.

This hand made 19th century Chinese sterling silver inkwell is 2 ½ inches long, 2 inches wide and 1 5/8 inches high. It depicts a cormorant sitting on a fishing basket. It has “sterling silver” (in Chinese) stamped on the bottom and a glass container inside. It has nice patina and is in excellent condition.

This late 19th or early 20th century hornbill casque with a carved ivory plaque of Guan Yin (Goddess of mercy) standing on cloud is 4 ½ inches high (with base is 5 ¾ inches), 7 ½ inches long and 3 inches on the widest part. It is in great condition.

This 19th century Chinese molded ceramic statue is 8 ¾ inches high, 7 ¼ inches wide and 3 ½ inches thick. It depicts a sitting young boy holding a frog. There is a square maker’s mark “Yi He” stamped on the bottom. The statue has its original leather and silk box from Spink and Son’s. It is in excellent condition.

The pair of early 20th century carved ivory emperor and empress snuff bottles are 2 ½ inches high, 7/8 inches wide and ½” thick. The emperor’s right hand holds a fan; his left hand carries a long staff. The empress’ right hand holds a flower; her left hand carries a round fan. The impressions on their faces are very well presented and their robes and hair pieces are nicely carved and colored. Aside from some worn pigment due to age, they are in really great shape.

This mid or late 19th century Chinese statue is 15 1/2 inches tall and 6 inches wide...

This late 19th C. or early 20th C. carved hard stone water bowl for painters or scholars is about 2 inches high, 5 ½ inches long and 4 ¾ inches wide. The water bowl is carved as a double plum blossom; a lucky bat, two smaller blossoms and leaf are on the side. The lucky bat and plum blossom represent bravery, strength and longevity in Chinese culture. The workmanship is simple and elegant. It is in excellent condition.

This late 19th century very well carved nephrite of a sage riding a horse is 9 inches high (with wood base is 10 ½ inches high), 8 ½ inches long and 4 ½ inches thick. It depicts an old sage holding a lantern while riding a horse. Though the nephrite has some natural blemishes, it is quite an eye catching piece. It is in great condition.

This 19th century deeply-carved small boxwood root brush holder (Bi Tong) is 5 ¼ inches high and 2 5/8 inches wide. The carver used the natural shape of the root to create a pine tree and plum blossom. The workmanship is great. The design, carving and polishing are all very well executed. The bottom was filled with softer wood. It is in excellent condition.

This pair of late Qing Dynasty Famille Rose Mille Fleurs (thousand flowers) bowls with cover are 2 3/4 inches high (4 inches with cover) and 5 5/8 inches in diameter. Peony, chrysanthemum, lily, hibiscus, iris and several unknown flowers are painted over the entire exterior and the interior rim of both bowls and covers. There are Qian Long (1736~1795) honorable marks on the bottoms of the bowls and a single peony blossom on the center of the covers. The workmanship is elegant. The gold edging...

This Qing Dynasty Dao Guang Period (1821~1850) and marked Famille Rose wedding bowl is 2 ½ inches tall and 5 inches in diameter. It depicts scenes before and after a wedding ritual. One scene is a happy groom riding a white horse toward the bride’s house to ask her family to let him to take her to his home. The second scene is the newly wed couple bowing to each other during the ceremony. The third scene has the bride playing “Go” with her mother-in-law while the groom is standing beh...

Tibetan snuff bottle with wood body, with decorative silver base and shoulders. The silver work shows a bird with elaborate wing feathers and thin handles on either side of the bottle. The stopper lid is capped with coral and the spoon is also silver. The condition is very good. Bottle measures 3" x 2"

A must have for any lotus shoe collector. This iron was used for pressing lotus shoes. The thin curved end was useful for getting into the toe area. Made of iron, it is somewhat rusty-i.e. pleasantly aged. Length tip to tip is 13"

This is small Song Dynasty (960 – 1279) cizhou jar. It is decorated at the top with key fred design and below with lotus leave all round. In between the key fred and lotus leave design, is painting of some kind of plants in two cartouches. In between the cartouches is painting that looks like sea-waves..

There is no chip, crack, repair or restoration. In good condition.

This is a Chinese Export blue and white Canton pattern porcelain pot de creme with cover, circa 1810-1820, having an entwined-strap handle decorated with gilt on blue floral terminals. The porcelain cover has a fruit-sprig knop. Measurements: 3 1/2 in. H; Condition: Condition: rim chips, hairline cracks, wear to gilt.
