Indian wedding palanquin for a bride. Made of a hardwood, possibly padauk, carved with florets and accented with iron details. The domed roof is constructed with a latticework. Doors and window openings are carved to mimic the architecture of a garden courtyard adding to the overall feminine quality of the palanquin.

This is a well-painted double-sided erotic miniature, 19th century or earlier. The painting has slight staining and is affixed to a paper frame (slightly torn, as shown in the photographs)by the edges of the manuscript, not impinging on the painting(s) themselves. Possibly from a Kama Sutra text, or the Gulistan. The leaf measures 4-1/4" X 7". Gold highlights.

Antique Indian gilt copper repouse plaque depicting many scenes from the life of Buddha. Starting just before his birth (upper left hand side) with the white elephant that descends from heaven with the buddha and enters Maya between her ribs as she sleeps. A large antique 19th century Indian Hindu temple puja bell or Ghanta the janus handle with figures of the monkey God Hanuman and Garuda. The bowl engraved with two elephants and zebu bull and floral pattern and scrolls.

19th century very small Indian bronze votive sculpture of Ganesha perched on high base, cast in the state of Maharashtra. Ganesha is the remover of obstacles, and thus is invoked before any new undertaking. He bestows good luck on his worshippers, and is invoked in marriage ceremonies and in some forms of Tantric worship. Nice casting, overall in great condition for a votive piece. Wonderful feel of age produced by obvious signs of wear. Height 1.66 inches.

Antique Mandalay Burmese style bronze gilt with silver buddha on a lotus base. The Buddha with earlobes touching shoulders extends his right arm out while the left arm holds his robe aside. The base is rounded. Obtained in Katmandu in the 1960s, made in the 19th century. It measures 6.75" toll 3" in diameter at base.

A deeply carved wooden lintel, dating to circa the mid-19th century, possibly earlier. The carving is detailed and in excellent condition. Chief among the figures is "Kamadhenu," a winged female deity with the body of a cow and the head of a human. The piece measures 30" in length (80cm) and is 9" in height (22cm).
