Six matching antique Imari plates with the classic black ship design showing Dutch ships and sailors. The plates measure about 1 1/4" high x 9 3/4" in diameter, and date to the end of the Meiji period. They are all in excellent condition with no damage or repairs. One dish has a small kiln flaw on it's foot rim. A complete range of Imari colors has been used in the elaborate design work. This mid. 19th century Japanese Imari (Aka-e) vase is almost 10 ½” high and 4 ¾” on widest part. There are two sections; one depicts a painted phoenix, butterfly and maple tree, the other depicts a geisha holding an umbrella standing in front of iris and hanging flowers. The rest of the vase is decorated with floral and textile designs. It is in perfect condition.

A cheerful Japanese Arita "Imari" bowl with a spotted lion dog looking at a waterfall. This scene is repeated in 3 cartouches surrounding the bowl's exterior. Enameled with vivid palette of colors, it is in very good original condition. No repairs, hairline, etc. Spurious Chinese mark on bottom reads "Greatest Ming Chenghua Make".
