An extremely cute pair of ceramic sculptures of two young Chinese children peeking over a balcony. The pair of children appear to be fragments of an old roof tile, and each one is set upon a wooden stand. The modeling of the children is exceptional, especially the character in their faces. They are dressed quite elaborately, one with a deep yellow glazed robe and the other with a grey robe with white crackle glaze...

Large Bronze Dragon Head Qilin Censer with Wood Stand, 17th Century

The qilin is 18 inches (46 cm) tall with stand, 14.5 inches (37 cm) without stand, and 15.75 inches (40 cm) wide.

It is in good condition with no repairs, or cracks, except small chips at his jaw (as seen in the photos).

Antique Chinese scroll painting by the artist, Ting Hsi Chiang (1669-1732). A pair of colorful kingfisher birds fly amidst the blossoming branches of a white peony bush and delicate sprays of white and yellow daisies Painted in ink and mineral colors on silk. There is calligraphy and a signature with seal in the upper left hand side.

Age: Kangxi or Yongzheng Dynasty (17th century)

An antique Japanese Bamboo Ikebana basket in a Sea Urchin shell form with fine weave and two woven ring handles. Often incorporated into the art of flower arranging, it also doubles as a sculptural table centerpiece.

This is a early Nippon collectors dream, beautiful and profusely decorated with a background of rolling mountains and trees, displaying an early morning sunrise. Enlarged birds and lakeside bulrushes are elegantly sculpted in high relief detail, the handles and mouth rim as well as the bulrushes are dotted with jewel-like turquoise beads, colors of chocolate, salmon pink, orange, and yellow dazzle the eyes...

Edo Period (19c) Yusai Awazu Brown Glaze Chawan formerly in the collection of Nishimura Toshimichi.
The mark Awazu is stamped at the bottom.

Yusai Awazu (1770-1848) was a government official in Inaba Province, an old province of Japan in the area that is today the eastern part of Tottori Prefecture, in the late Edo period.

An Arita Export porcelain plate in Dutch ‘Kraak’ style. A plate with the same border is illustrated in the Impey Collection “Japanese Export Porcelain, Catalogue of the collection of the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford. Hotei Publishing, Amsterdam, 2002”, item 12. The border pattern shows a striking similarity to that used for V.O.C. orders produced at the Hikeoba and Sarugawa kilns. Circa 1680.

Hanging scroll with image of the descent of the Buddha to welcome the souls of the deceased and accompany them to the Western Paradise. He is standing on a lotus on clouds and holds his hand in gebon josho. The mudra is the appropriate level for common citizens to be reborn in. Mineral colors and gold on silk. The garment exquisitely decorated in gold. Japan, late Muromachi or early Edo period, 16th century.

Earthenware offering plate depicting Buddha sitting in a niche, his hands in "bhumisparsa mudra". On his right is another Buddha also in a niche. Thailand, Khmer period known as Lopburi, 12-14th century. 84 mm high x 84 mm wide x 17 mm thick. The piece is nicely mounted on a custom stand. Abrasion due to age, otherwise good condition.

A rare Yuan dynasty 14th century double gourd ewer with cover, rounded side with double gourd shape and unglazed base, this ewer decorated with under glaze iron spots with qingbai glaze.
Ewer is in good condition with spout broken off and re attach and covered with silver mounted, complete condition on handle and bodies still original.
Size: 12.5 cm height.

Song dynasty longquan celadon plate with bluish green glaze, good condition small glaze chip at the rim, please see picture for detail, size: 13 cm diameter.

An iron, Ko-Tosho (early sword smith's) tsuba. The slightest taper from seppa dai towards rim. Pierced decoration. Purchased from Andy Quirt (ex Skip Holbrook collection) at the February 2016 Tampa show, he thought it depicted gourds. I guess the beholder might see different things. I see Japanese eggplants on leafy vine (two fruit and two leaves) supported by a bamboo trellis. An uncommon and well executed, balanced decoration. The hitsu-ana appears to be original to the tsuba. Late Muromachi...

Late 19th century porcelain netsuke of an old woman Uba with a broom in her hand. Uba and her companion Jo are an elderly couple living as spirits in pine trees in Takasago. Wonderful expressive face with wrinkles and hollow cheeks, beautiful wear and patina. Looks like old smoothed losses to the back of her robe by the bottom. Height 2.73 inches.

11th generation Raku Kichizaemon Keinyu (1817-1902) White Raku Sake Bottle Tokkuri.

The mark of the potter is stamped at the bottom. Keinyu used this mark after his retirement.
The red clay was used which was glazed and fired...
