This brush pot displays shallow carving with incising utilizing the natural “skin” of the bamboo to depict a scene of tortoise, cranes, and pine as a wish for longevity. The carver's name is incised beneath the pine tree. It is in good condition and has a nice patina. There is some wear to the interior from use. Acquired in London in the mid 1980s.

A thinly potted porcelain bowl, brilliantly enamelled. Famille Rose, Qing Dynasty, Qianlong Period ( 1736 - 1795 ). Diameter : 14,2 cm. H : 7,2 cm. Condition : One very minute rim frit ( 0,5 mm ) and a short hairline, nearly invisible to the naked eye ( there still is a nice "ping-tone" when the bowl is tapped ).
This iconic tea bowl was crafted by one of the great masters of Japanese pottery and given the poetic name "Dewdrop" by a famous tea master of the Omote-senke school of tea. The Chrysanthemum flowers (Kiku) depicted on the front of the bowl are auspicious symbols of longevity and rejuvenation in Japan. A set of five, sometsuke tusurugata kozara, blue and white Crane shaped small dishes dating to the late seventeenth century. An identical set of dishes is illustrated in volume II of the Shibata Collection at page 272 no 714, there dated c.1680-1710. Their condition is good all the dishes show crazing to the glaze, two have a minute chip each to the edge. Similar shaped dishes have been excavated from the Sarukawa kiln at Arita...
Nice small size late 19th / early 20th century Sino-Tibetan bronze vajra - the primary symbol and ritual implement in Tantric Buddhism. It symbolizes the essence of esoteric practices and the perfected state of reality. This vajra has 5 prongs on each end - one at the center, and four at the cardinal directions - symbolizing five cosmic Buddhas. The globe in the middle is considered to be the power center of the implement, on either side of the globe there are stylized lotus petals...
Chinese archaic pottery figure of a calling camel on a solid base, made from red clay. The statue has a great, incredibly detailed form. The inside body of the camel is hollow and within it you can see finger imprints from the original artist. In wonderful, original condition. Tang Dynasty dates from AD 618-907.

Antique small Hirado ware figure of a tiger. Made of porcelain and glazed white with great detail especially in the fur. Hirado ware was first developed in the village of Mikawachi located in the area of Kyushu which was, along with neighboring islands, controlled by the Hirado daimyo. Initially Hirado ware was made exclusively for the daimyo's use. Later, Hirado ware found it's way west through Japan's trade with the Dutch East Indian Company...
Celadon Bowl with incised lotus petals and character "ji" (Japanese = "kichi,) "Good Luck, fortune" on interior well. Ming Dynasty China, ca.1368-1644. H.2.75"(7cm) x Dia.5.125"(13cm.) Excellent condition and suitable for Matcha Chawan (Tea Bowl) use. Very small glaze chip on rim. Most likely provenance is Longquan ware, Zhejiang Province. Celadon wares of similar design were an important export item from these kilns from the 12th through 17th Centuries...

A rare mid 17th Century conical form bowl decorated to the exterior with playful buddhistic lions and peony sprays. The rim is washed brown and the base carries the six character retrospective Ming mark of the Jiajing emperor. This item was made circa 1644 to 1680 during the Shunzhi or early Kangxi reign.
