The Chinese ethnic minority Miao are very fond of silver and would use any festival to display their ornate silver jewelry. This dragon necklace was used by a young girl child from one of the many Miao villages around the hills of Kali. The pendent is 6.5 inches wide, childs' size, but the decorative chain is long enough for an adult to wear. Because the pendent is hollow, it is comfortable to wear. As one moves, the necklace makes a soft tinkling sound.

Condition: Three tiny red cloisons under the top rim are missing, behind these are small chips. The damage is under the rim at the back of the vase above the single iris bud and is not easily seen. There are no other issues.

This very well carved gold gilt wood Buddha (Japanese name is Amida Nyorai or Amida Butsu.) is 18 ½” high, 7” wide and 6” thick (including base), the Buddha is 11 ¾” high, 3 ½” wide and 3” thick. It is a mid or late 18th century piece. His right hand facing outward means wisdom and his left hand facing downward means compassion. The halo on the back is missing. Aside from missing small pieces on the base and gold gilt lacquer lost from the robe, it is in excellent condition.
A good underglaze blue and iron red decorated deep dish depicting Ming style dragons amongst cloud scrolls. The base carries the six character mark of the Yongzheng emperor, within a double circle, and was made during his reign (1723 to 1736). This is indigo dye fireman's shirushi hanten at the Meiji era.(1870~1910) It is tsutsugaki in the indigo dye cotton.
Shirushi hanten of this length is very valuable. It is a very impressive motif. There is a little repair mark. However, the state is very good. It is touch of the cotton of a warm indigo dye. It is a wonderful, beautiful excellent article. Please add to your collection.
