We like to offer you a rare Japanese Hagi Chawan called 'Gohon Chawan', made in the old Korean style from ancient times and dating from the mid Edo period.

Colour and glaze are equally rare and wonderful. We offer this fantastic chawan together with its Edo period wooden storage box and its cloth pouch called 'Shifuku'.

This Hagi Gohon Chawan has a split cross footring called 'warekodai'. Tea bowls of this style were favored by busho chajin (warrior tea men)...

A good quality five colour Imari deep bowl decorated with a meandering arabesque of double headed Peach flowers. The interior decorated with boughs of the same, and the base decorated with a Clove motif in green enamel (Oliver Impey identifies this as a Daikon). The bowl measures 8 inches 20.5cm in diameter and is in good condition, some slight frits to the rim, no crack, chips or restoration, some slight losses to the enamels. English Provenance. Song Dynasty Qingbai covered box with floral pattern on lid and lobed sides to lid and base. Light blue overall with more pronounced blue in recessed areas on lid & base. Interior is partially glazed revealing white ware towards rim on lid and base. Note, chipping to base rim with a small hairline on inside of base eminating from chip, not apparent on outside. Yokote Kasuri Yogi was used in the Akita region during the Meiji period. Dyed with natural indigo. In this regard, the cotton is hand-spun. The pattern is Urashima Taro. This pattern is extremely rare. Very good condition No stains or damage. Size 147cm x 140cm (57.8" x 55.1")

Flint and tinder pouch, in the shape of an envelope made of leather with a heavy steel lower edge, and a loop on top to allow suspension from the belt. Lavish silver and brass decoration with three turquoises in the middle. Tibet, 19th century. Length: 5 3/4" (14,7 cm). Obvious signs of age, wear and use, otherwise very good condition. A rather scarce object nowadays.

A fine example of a Joseon Dynasty Korean tiger hunting painting, that makes use of the best quality pigments and finest silk, and is rendered with the highest level of artistry and skill, likely by a painter from the royal court. An Arita serving bowl, namasu, of moulded simplified lotus form partially celadon glazed with a ko sometsuke style Sansui landscape in the well of the bowl framed by enamelled Chestnut branches outlined in gilt. The reverse plain and the interior of the foot-ring clear glazed. The bowl is typical of the output of the Higuchi kiln in the Nangawara valley which specialised in combing celadon and clear glazes...

Antique Japanese candle holder made of iron, with attractive teardrop shaped tiers that hold five candles on each side, two inside, and one main candle at its very top. Its base is rectangular and solid, with a nice patina, and it stands on three legs. Size: 60 cm height, 17" width

A very rare and early example with its original polychrome and clear traces of long time use. Note the glossy patina on the back of the mask. We offer today a wonderful Chinese Longquan Celadon Porcelain Guanyin (Kwan Yin) dating from the Ming Dynasty. This Guan Yin has been acquired from the world famous collector of Chinese ceramics, Dr. Nearing and his Dragon's Lair Collection some years ago.

The Buddha is sitting in the double lotus position. The right hand is in the Karana mudra position, which expels negative energy or wards off evil.

It is about 10 1/4 inches tall.
