Inro – An old and very fine model of japanese gold urushi lacquer with a gold background names « poudre de thé » as a Fundame lacquer technique. Representing a very elegant decor of deers playing, with a technique of Harigaki silver and brown lacquer. Japan Edo (1603-1868) 17th century.

A large and very attractive vase by Taizan, delicately painted in coloured enamels and gilding with two continuous fields of decoration, the neck with irises above a cloud band of floral trellis pattern, a swathe of scrolling foliage between formal borders. The base signed Dai Nihon Taizan sei and impressed Taizan.

Approximately 30.7 cm high...

This little chap is looking remarkably relaxed considering he has lost the tips of his fingers on one hand. And the tip of an ear also. Still, he is quite a rarity and makes a fine desk companion.

An attractive copper and brass food container from Tibet. I am attracted by its simplicity and note that the copper part is brass brazed with a large dovetail seam around the middle.

An ancient Jemdet Nasr cylinder seal from the famous Erlenmeyer collection.
This is a typical Jemdet Nasr cylinder seal of the "seated women“ or „pigtailed“ group and are often made of red or pinkish limestone. The amulet was bought from Galerie Günter Puhze and will come with their CoA.

A set of five Japanese porcelain bowls of tapering square form, the corners with shallow concave chamfers, decorated with alternating panels of flowers and Ho-0 birds.

Each base has a ‘Fuki Choshun’ four-character mark in underglaze blue.

Two similar bowls are illustrated in the Catalogue of the Shibata Collection, #2673 and #2674. Dated to 1690~1730.

Very Rare Joseon Period Lacquered Bamboo Fan with the Korean Taegeuk National Symbol.The last photo here shows a similar fan in a recent Korean auction with an estimate of $3,000 to $5,000. You can see similar examples on page 475 of the catalogue of the Korean art collection of the Grassi Museum in Leipzig, Germany. The Taegeuk symbol has been used in Korea for thousands of years and is the center of the Korean flag...

A Japanese porcelain koi dragon resting on the enameled base to simulate bronze with an open mouth and a sphere on the tongue. Entirely in glazed white porcelain with gold decorations on the fins, tail and long whiskers. Legend has it that a Koi carp leaping from the depths of the river attracted the attention of local demons, who stepped up the waterfall out of mischief. After a hundred years of jumping, a Koi finally reached the top of the waterfall...

Chinese Ming dynasty blue and white elephant forms kendi. Wanli period. 21,7 cm high. Kendi has repair at the body, please check at the pictures.

Portrait of ancestor. Painting on paper representing a noble lady. The style of the furniture and its quality suggest that it is an important wealthy family of the 18th century, without however being of the imperial family because the dragons represented on the dress have only 4 claws. The face is admirably painted, the artist played with the light to give us this living-dead head and yet it is beautiful without anything macabre. China circa 1800...
