This is samurai's battle surcoat in Edo period. It is a family crest of the deer horn and the character in the cotton of the indigo dye. There is a motif of Maru also in surroundings of the skirt. It is very a battle surcoat of Chatami. There are discoloration in the plain wood cotton and the white ground of the collar.There is no damage. It is very good. Edo Period Kyogen Theater Karura (Garuda) Mask, donated in the 19th Century by the prominent collector, Dr. C.G. Weld to the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.
