An antique Japanese Tansu chest called Kotansu made entirely of Kirinoki (Paulownia) wood. All original bronze and iron hardware including the Warabite handles. This boat-shaped basket, designed for flower arrangements, is well-crafted from strips of bamboo that is stained a rich, dark reddish-brown and had acquired areas of further dark patina from age and use. The ship form probably represents a so-called treasure ship (takarabune) signifying wishes for good fortune and is usually displayed during the New Year’s season...

Beautiful Japanese bronze figure of a seated Jurojin, the god of wisdom and longevity. He is seated holding a fan and leans on a recumbent deer. Wonderful lines and use of color patina. Signed Tokumitsu. Taisho Period. With hardwood stand. Size: 8 1/2" high

This is a beautiful Japanese cloisonne Vase from the 1920's. It was created with a profusion skilled of work. It was made by Hayashi or Ando. It stands 9 3/4 inches tall and is 4 3/4 wide. Rims are silver and stamped. Bottom rim a tiny indentation in the silver but this vase is in outstanding condition.

Japanese framed woodblock print by Utagawa Hiroshige (1797-1858) of an Oban Tate-E size and format (common sizing / vertically printed), from the series Gujusan Tsugi Meisho Zue. Signature and seal in bottom left with calligraphy seals. Imagery of far off boats heading into shore.

Antique Japanese Nabeshima ware bowl, with cobalt blue design of waves and an array of scholar objects in mint green, lilac, yellow, and red glaze. Edges are decorated with "comb" design along foot. Underside has interesting signature mark of a budding flower. 19th century. Size: 6" diameter, 1.5" height

Antique Chinese hardwood desk, made of Jumu (elm) wood with bold natural grain. The desk front has four drawers with brass handles on butterfly and bat shaped backplates. Below the desk, a hinged door opens to a roomy storage compartment. All original condition.

This is a rare Yabu Meizan Censer. It is not decorated with gold details and painting but is still an attractive item with its rich turquoise colored glaze. The first and second images show how it appears under normal lighting. It probably does not have the original cover but this silver one is more functional than the ivory covers we have seen. The silver lids fit perfect.

A bronze crane in dark almond colored patina of superb craftsmanship dating from the late 19th to early 20th century (Meiji period). It is quite large at 48.5 cm tall (19 inches) and is in excellent condition.

Japanese candy apple red under-kimono with a simple, yet beautiful shibori style design of flowers. Shibori is a method of fabric dying in which bits of cloth are tied, sewn, folded, twisted, etc. to create patterns, similar to the Western method of tie-dye. It is lined with red cotton and has a white cotton collar and sleeves. Taisho period (1912-1925) Size: 46.75" height, 45" width

Beautiful antique Chinese desk, Republic Period (circa 1920) with inset marble details; door panels feature carvings of bamboo and plum blossoms with birds; detachable secretary top secured by mortise and tendons; inset brass handles. 54" high x 41 1/2' wide x 21 1/2" deep. Chinese porcelain planter hand painted by Huang Ming Guang in 1919. This four sided planter has calligraphy on two sides; a bird in flowers and a landscape are on other two sides. Some color has rubbed off and there are small chips on the rim. It is in fairly good condition. H: 4 ¼ inches, W: 4 inches

Maekake (apron) made of Ohmi jofu which is hand-woven of hemp with kasuri pattern. Weft kasuri yarns are clamp-board dye, so that it has bar-code like white lines in both selvedges. In excellent condition except for both white cotton belts have dirt. Late 19th to early 20th century. W:66cm, L73cm
