A solid cast gilt bronze dating to no later than the 17th century. The piece consists of the upper five heads of a standing Avalokitesvara. Mounted on a custom stand, the piece itself measures 4-1/4" in height. The quality of the casting is first-rate; remains of gilding, as shown in the photos. The piece would originally have had inlays of turquoise or coral, now missing. Please have a look at the photos, as they are part of the description.

A rare Ming dynasty 15th century blue and white kendi (pouring vessel), globular body, tubular neck, dish shape mount, and mammiform spout, kendi decorate with under glaze blue flower motif.
Kendi is in very good condition no damage, no chip, no crack, no restoration.

A deeply carved Chinese cinnabar seal paste box measuring about 2.75 inches diameter and 1" high. It is a superb example of early bright red cinnabar lacquer. Being 225 years old, it has been very well kept. Dates circa 1780.

Porcelain covered with greyish glaze to the foot, unglazed concave base. PERIOD : Yue ware 9th Century MEASUREMENTS: 10.2 cm tall. CONDITION: no chips, cracks or hairlines and free from restoration.

A Northern Sung or earlier green glaze celadon tea bowl, some comb pattern. It is in good condition no damage, no crack, no chip, no restoration except glaze corossion by sea water, now very sandpapery after one thousand years in the sea bed.

19th century hand carved Asian figural cheroot pipe with a Mother-of-Pearl disk inset on each side and a dark red lacquer rim. A very unusual and collectible pipe that was used "back in the day" when smoking cheroot in pipes was fashionable. Missing its stem which could have been metal or reed. Measures 3.5 inches long.

Scene of geese on a flowering stream bank. Though unsigned, the design is very well executed in mostly earth-toned enamels. There are some faint stress lines of discoloration in one area under the enamel, otherwise the condition is very good.

Antique Japanese ikebana (flower arrangement) basket, comprised of tightly hand-woven, thin strips of bamboo. The basket has an hourglass figure with a wide mouth and slightly fluted lip. The handles is formed with gnarled wisteria and bamboo branches, tightly wound with twisted bamboo. The base of the foot is recessed, with a 3-character signature.

A finely potted Chinese buff pottery conical bowl, with moulded floral interior, covered in a lustrous semi translucent amber glaze over a white slip, the interior with three small spur marks. Liao dynasty, 10th century. 12 cms diam. From a Buckinghamshire, UK, collection formed in the 1980's.

Green jade earring made some 3,200 years ago from people living around the Ma and Red Rivers in northern Vietnam. Can be worn as a pendant. Size: L. 3.4cm W. 2.3cm. Condition: Almost perfect.

Japanese Mino yaki sake bottle 1600s

This high-fired bottle was produced at the Mino Kilns in Gifu Prefecture in pale-gray stoneware. The bottle is covered overall in a transparent glaze with a greenish tint. Ancient censer, of circular shape, resting on three feet, decorated on all sides with dragons in relief "chasing the pearl" and, on two sides, with dragon heads. Bronze, fine green patina. The actor Ichikawa Danjuro IX in a scene from kabuki theater from the series "100 Roles of Ichikawa Danjuro IX" by Toyohara Kunichika 1835-1900) dated in the left margin "5th month of Meiji 31" (1898). Deluxe edition with extensive gauffrage accents to the yellow background, cartouches, margin and hair. There are mica highlights in the background.
