A rare thinly potted and extremely well painted deep dish with exceptionally fine porcelain body. The base carries the six character reign mark of the Jiajing emperor (1522-1566) enclosed within a double circle but this item was probably made later, in the 16th/17th Century, during the reign of the Wanli emperor (1573-1619). Condition: there is production glaze loss (fritting) to the rim but no cracks or damages and no restoration...

The cobalt blue is excellent. The glaze is excellent and the representation of Kui Xing is most appealing ( please regard the images ). Jingdezhen ware. Diameter : 10,8 cm. Condition : Perfect
