Antique Indonesian heavy piece of burl wood, with a large hole in its middle that may have been used as a mortar and pestle. The hole appears to have been worn through to the bottom over time. Size: 15" height, 24" width

Antique Korean single section bedside chest, with "book matching" front panels of hardwood burl. Four drawers line the top of the chest with brass handles in motifs of lucky bats. The front of the chest features a pair of doors with incised brass plating.

Cotton kimono (yukata) with shibori design which was ordered matching for local people at the festival. Probably from Amagi in Fukuoka in Kyushu. Late 19th to early 20th century. In excellent condition. W:124cm, L:138cm

This is a rare Yabu Meizan Censer. It is not decorated with gold details and painting but is still an attractive item with its rich turquoise colored glaze. The first and second images show how it appears under normal lighting. It probably does not have the original cover but this silver one is more functional than the ivory covers we have seen. The silver lids fit perfect.

Antique pair of Thai male attendants (Nats), finely rendered out of teak wood, with polychrome traces of pigments. These funerary effigies would be kept close to an ancestral altar in order to help lead their spirits into the afterlife. Highly realistic detailing and form, this pair of statues are raised on pedestals for sturdy display.

Antique Japanese box made with mixed metal, iron, and leather components with a handle woven with wood, iron studding along its sides, and a removable lid with a small iron handle. It may have been used to store and transport a multitude of items as Japan began to modernize their technology. Circa 1900 Size: 10" height, 9.75" width

Japanese 2 section kimono tansu. Made with Kiri (paulownia) wood, all natural finish. The upper section holds 8 drawers, which is considered an auspicious number. The bottom section contains 2 drawers with warabite pulls mounted on pierced metal plates. The piece also contains a secret hidden compartment beneath the bottom drawer.

Taisho period (1912-1925)

Shima-cho, a sample book of cotton stripes and checks (check pattern was also called "shima" before. Some has both stripes and kasuri. Mostly vegetable indigo dyed but some of colored warps are chemical and some fragments are machine woven. 40 pages with 613 fragments. In excellent condition. Antique Japanese cotton woven futon cover, dyed with a paste resist technique called Tsutsugaki on an indigo ground with the mythical creature Baku, devourer of dreams and nightmares and protector against evil. The Baku should not be summoned without caution, however, as ancient legends say that if he is not satisfied after consuming one's nightmares, he may instead devour their hopes and dreams.

Antique Japanese Samurai Matchlock Rifle. Lock is functioning, main spring has good tension. Keyaki hardwood is in wonderful condition. Ingraved iron with flowers and dragons. Silver inlaid cartouche on the top of the barrel. Great collectors piece. 18th Century Dimensions: 49 1/2" Long

Antique Japanese 2-section isho tansu (chest on chest for clothing). Made with kiri (paulownia) wood. Original finish. Classic motifs include the round iron lock plates and warabite drawer pulls. The bottom corner of the piece holds two of the smallest drawers behind a safe door.

Japanese single section clothing tansu, with Kuri burl hardwood front drawers, iron lock plates with foliate edges, warabite pulls, fan-shaped iron corner hardware. The bottom corner has a safe door with round lock plate and ring pull. Inside are the two smallest drawers in the chest.

Antique Chinese adorable frog clay roof tile. Glossy glaze on stone makes the rich green, yellow, and orange colors vibrant and stand out nicely. Frog is charming and tranquil. Opening on back is perfect flower arrangement. Early 19th Century Dimensions: 15.5" Long, 5.5" Tall, 8.5" Wide

A Myochin iron forged Jizai Okimono articulated spiny lobster. Each iron plate is carefully reppouse hammered iron creating a natural realism representing the spiny lobster. The amount of fine detail that goes into this piece is equal to that of one of his most well known helmets. The lobster is fully splayed on a well mounted bronze stand.
