Antique Indian figure of dancing Ganesha. Carved of stone, possibly serpentine. Ganesha, the Remover of Obstacles stands on one foot with knees bent as he dances. In one hand he holds a string of prayer beads and in the other, a club. By his right hand is his vehicle (vahana), a mouse. Ganesha is the beloved child of Shiva and Parvati.

This beautiful processional Satsuma Jar or koro is a treasure from he Meiji era. It is signed by both Sozan and Kinkozan. This stoutly made jar is 4 1/2 inches tall and 5 inches wide. The mixed metal lid is a replacement from the Meiji era, that fits perfect and is possibly more attractive than the original. We also have the original lid. Whimsical antique Japanese netsuke of two octopi in embrace, carved in beautiful cherry amber with lots of little details. The Japanese would wear small stacked containers called inro from their belts or sash. Inro boxes were held together by a long cord running down its sides that looped at the top, held together by a netsuke bead and an ojime bead. Japanese late 18th century white IMARI figure of a gentleman. Formed by hand and made of white porcelain with a clear glaze. The gentleman is dressed in formal kimono and is carrying a fan. Done with wonderful expression and in very nice detail. The piece has some natural flaws in the clay and glaze, such as stress cracks and glazing flaws. The figure stands 17 1/2" tall, is 6 1/2" wide and is 5" deep.
