Large Chinese embroidered silk badge of a three toed dragon. The 3-toed dragon is the symbol of government ministers and public officials. This piece could have been from a wall hanging or off of a room screen. Color of badge is even; glare from the glass is making it look darker or lighter in areas. This badge measures 20.5" high and was placed on a cream colored closely cropped brushed velvet material, then framed. Framed measurements are: 26.5" wide x 33" high.

An antique Japanese bronze water pot or ewer decorated and shaped in the style emulating Chinese Shang dynasty bronzes. The tripod leg often is referring to the ding where it was thought that these vessels were used to serve wine. Has a Kanji charactor on base that can be translated to men "to offer". Age: Meiji Period Size: Diameter 11.5" Height 13.5"
This antique Chinese silk wall hanging is embroidered with mounted soldiers carrying banners across a mountainous terrain. Silk background fabric with a wide silk border, the tapestry is approx 60 inches tall and 28 inches wide. The fabric is in very good condition. This tapestry conservatively dates to the mid 1800's. While the detail of the embroidery is clearly visible, some of the embroidered threads are abraided and worn, which is typical of a textile of this technique and age.
19th C red lacquer with gold gilt wood Chinese palace lantern featuring intricately hand carved scenes of birds and flowers. Professionally restored, it is in excellent condition ready to be hung or used as a table base (see last 2 photos). Measures 27" high 18" square. Dates 1850.
Near perfect pair of fuschia colored silk Chinese lotus shoes for bound feet. Each shoe is embroidered with delicate gold couching and a silk satin stitched butterfly. In excellent condition they have been packed and stored in a box for the past century. Color is vibrant having not been exposed to sunlight.
A really old Japanese lacquer wooden mizusashi for the tea ceremony, made of cherry wood with its original lacquered lid. It dates from the later Edo Period. Such wooden mizusashis are really rare. It is elegantly proportioned and has a black lacquered interior.

19th century small underglaze blue and white Japanese Arita porcelain sweetmeat dish used during tea ceremony, in lozenge shape with decoration of 2 boys among bushes on the inside, and scrolling vines on the outside. Very nice potting with indented corners, wonderful thick glaze with minute bubbles, beautiful dark spots in the paste consistent with age. Very good quality freehand painting, overall in excellent condition. Length 4 1/8 inches.
