Rare Ming dynasty longquan celadon large lantern vase, rounded side with barrel shape and unglazed foot ring, celadon vase decorated with carved chrysanthemum flower motif, vertical ribbing on the neck and lower part, covered with nice green tone celadon glaze.

This is a lovely ancient Egyptian Scarab, more than 2,300 years old, from the famous Mitry collection (see our Homepage). It is 7/16” long (11 mm) and made of steatite, an easy-to-carve stone that hardens when heated. Chinese Export Famille Rose Porcelain Charger, 1780 - 1800, 13 1/2" diameter, 1 1/4" high, with overglaze Famille Rose color of large Peony flowering branch in the center, bordered within seven(7) small flowering branches decorated on the wide rim area. A serene QING DYNASTY HAND CARVED GENUINE TURQUOISE DEITY WITH A BABY, ca. 1850 She is draped in long robes fluttering at the sleeves, her hair in a fine chignon. The turquoise of this divine statuette is of high quality, with even coloration. Dimensions without the wooden base are 8 cm x 3.5 cm. Comes with the custom made wooden base.

Ca. 1700s or earlier

This clear quartz stone is carved in the form of a mountain with tall peaks to accommodate five or six small calligraphy brushes. The front has a “ruyi” carved in low relief among rocky outcroppings across its slightly convex facade. The backside is flat and uncarved and reveals the natural flaws in the clear stone. It has a soft polish overall and an even wear. Acquired in Osaka, Japan in the 1970s.

Extremely rare early discus shaped type of pottery Oil lamp, Roman late 1st. century AD.

The lamp is of the Loeschcke Type IV and displays a scene with Hercules fighting the Hydra on it's discus. An awesome motif and an important lamp for the historically interested collector or scolar.

Small figurine representing Kuan Yin, the Buddhist Goddess of Mercy, in formal attire and wearing elaborate diadem and necklaces, flanked by two worshippers, standing on an elevated throne in front of which a lion head is showing in relief. Bronze, with dark reddish-green patina. China, Northern Wei or Sui Dynasty. Height: 2 3/4" (7 cm). Abrasion due to great age, otherwise good condition. An extremely rare object.

Superb 3 paneled weaving from the Zhuang ethnic group in Guangxi Zhuang, Southern China. The body is woven from very fine handmade cotton thread while the weft supplementary embroidery is done with silk floss threads (the small blue indigo medallions are done with cotton). Quite a heavy piece because of all the embroidery. L: 161cm/63in and W: 100cm/39in.circa first half of the 20th century.
