Rare half-mask of the esoteric Nuo theater representing a demon. Wood, with numerous perforations around the top of the forehead, above the eyes and below the nose in order to represent the hair, eyebrows and mustache. The mask was lacquered originally. It suffered an old accident which split it in two from top to bottom, but was restored a long time ago and locally with resin. Though the mask is more fragile than a mask without any accident, it is nevertheless strong enough now...

The sides of the hand warmer show beautiful scenery with trees, mountains, three figures in a canoe, and one figure standing over a bridge. Signed on bottom. Antique famille rose brush pot, made of Chinese porcelain and decorated with two perched quails, surrounded by flowers in hues of purple, pink, yellow, orange, and blue. The bottom of the vase has a Jian Ding seal that reads "Shende Tang Zhi", meaning "Made for the Hall of Prudent Virtue" (1831-1850). 19th century Size: 4.75" tall, 3" diameter

Ming Dynasty Celadon charger with floral/leaf and apparent bird (Bird of Paradise) pattern in center. Overall in good condition. Per images, note crackled surface, several small pockmark chips and what appears to be a hairline in the glaze. Slight warpage. Diameter: 9 and half + inches.
