This pair of Chinese archer rings with wood stands and caps is a product of late 19th century. They are 1 3/16” high (the darker one is a little shorter), 1 3/8” in diameter and a quarter of an inch thick. They are 2 ½” high with the carved wood stands and caps. The two knobs are made from natural red coral. They are in excellent condition and look great on a scholar’s desk.

This early 20th century carved jadeite lady is 6 ¾ inches tall (with base, it is 8 inches tall), 2 ½ inches wide and I inch thick. It depicts a lady holding a branch of flowers. A crane is standing next to her. It is in great condition.

This late 19th century Chinese carved ivory Guan Yin (goddess of mercy) is 11 ½ inches tall, 2 ½ inches wide and 2 ¼ inches thick. She is standing on a double lotus base. One hand is holding prayer beads, the other is holding a lotus. The workmanship and the quality of the ivory are superb. Besides a few small hairline cracks, it is in excellent condition.

Antique Japanese gunbai, war fan belonging to a high ranking samurai officer. Made of lacquered wood with shell inlay and with 2 large cut outs. This fan would have been used to shade from the sun and to signal troops. Though this shape of fan was not used as a weapon, it could have come in very handy in battle and there are legends of samurai heroes fighting with nothing but their war fans. The art of fighting with a war fan is called tessenjutsu...
