From our Japanese Collection, a very fine and very early imari charger, late 17th - early 18th century (circa 1690-1730), decorated with a flower pot, a scholar’s rock, and a large tree in full bloom upon a terraced pavilion, all executed in the typical early imari palette of blue, orange-red, and gilt, with the border done in a rich brocade of flower motifs.

Ordinarily, we do not gravitate much towards early Japanese imari simply on aesthetic grounds...

A Small Blue and White Porcelain, Yongzheng Period c.1723-1735. Painted with Flower spray and the Rim Dressed with Iron-Oxide. Measure : H= 16 cm Condition : perfect, no chisp, cracks or hairlines and free from restorations.

An album of twelve erotic pictures, Edo period, 18thcentury. Painted with ink and pigments on silk. The each image is exquisitely depicted throughout the year with some seasonal changes in the scene. The paintings bear a seal, which is quite rare as artists usually remained anonymous when they executed Shunga pictures during Edo period. The seal is recognized as Shunsho school. The inscription on the cover reads “jyunikagetsu emaki ikkan” meaning twelve months painting album - first volume...

This Qing Dynasty Kang Xi Period (1662~1735) blue and white plate is 10” in diameter and 2” high. The interior of this plate depicts a living room scene; a couple are sitting on chairs chatting and a young maid is standing near by. Eight symbols which represent the Eight Immortals and multiple plants are around the center living room scene. The rim is decorated with peach and textile patterns...

A Chinese Export coffee cup with European style decoration of flower sprigs within a stylized wreath in green, black and gilt. Qianlong, c 1750. Height "2¾/ 7 cm. Condition: a few stress cracks to the glaze visible from the inside.

From our Chinese Blue and White Collection, a fine Qianlong Period (1736-1795) large export porcelain dish or small charger, depicting "Three Friends of Winter," pine, prunus, and bamboo, in a fenced garden setting with floral sprigs and cash diaper motifs on the border. The reverse is plain.

This is an unusually well-executed example of 18th century export ware...

A small Chinese porcelain plate decorated with famille rose enamel depicting a foo dog playing with a colorful ball. A six characters Qianlong mark is on the bottom and it was made in the period. The Plate is in perfect condition. Diameter: 6".

Antique Chinese, Yuan Dynasty (1279–1368 A.D.), Crackle – Glaze, Ge Type Ceramic Jar of a bulbous form with a raised short moulded mouth, the - exterior of the jar is covered with mat finish, pale celadon -greyish crackle glaze leaving the shoulders, mouth and the foot rim unglazed. The interior of the jar covered with glossy crackle glaze.

The jar comes together with its old, elegant rosewood stand...

18th century Indian bronze votive sculpture of Ganesha sitting on a rectangular throne with probhavali at his back, his vahana (vehicle) - a bandicoot rat - by his left foot, and holding his usual attributes in his 4 hands. This Ganesha has his trunk turned to the left, and it is strongly advisable for worshippers to keep left sided Ganesha statue at home. They are believed to be representing Ida Nadi (lunar energy) with its moonlike nature and feminine energy with a cooling effect...
